Cassandra Mason is a minor antagonist in the video game Harry Potter: Hogwarts Legacy. She is a shop owner in the village of Hogsmeade. She would sell a shop to unsuspecting people in order to trap them in a haunted labyrinth with a poltergeist. After her victims were driven insane, she would repeat the process. She was voiced by Jane Windsor.
Biography[]
At some point she acquired a female House-Elf named Penny. She also came into ownership of a shop in the wizard village of Hogsmeade. Contained within this shop was a chest which was enchanted to lead to a labyrinth haunted by a poltergeist named Fastidio.
She came up with a scam in which she would sell her shop to unsuspecting tenants. When the shop was bought, she would give the victim a key to a chest. When the chest was opened it led to a secret labyrinth in which the victim would be trapped with Fastidio. Fastidio would torment them until they were driven insane. After which, the victim would be permanently institutionalized. Cassandra would keep the money and then sell the shop again. Her House-Elf, Penny, knew about the scheme, but was forbidden to tell the victims about it. If she tried, she would be forced to hold her breath.
Cassandra offered to sell the shop to an unsuspecting fifth year student at Hogwarts. She claimed her shop was failing and needed a new tenant. The student managed to come up wit the money and purchased the shop. Cassandra gave them the key and told them to open the chest. The student was trapped in the labyrinth with Fastidio. However, unlike the other tenants, the student managed to escape the labyrinth. They made a deal with Fastidio, allowing him to haunt the shop at nights if he agreed to leave them alone during the day.
The student them told Officer Singer of the scheme. The two of them confronted Cassandra. Cassandra then attacked and injured Officer Singer and tried to murder the student. However, the student defeated Cassandra, and Singer arrested her. She was sent to Azkaban. Before her imprisonment, she was forced to officially sell the shop and Penny to the Student.
