Cat Signal was the cat and traffic light-themed Machine Beast of the Machine Empire Baranoia serving Prince Buldont and a supporting antagonist in Chouriki Sentai Ohranger: The Movie.
He was voiced by Tomohiro Nishimura who also voiced ZZ Zeri in Gekisou Sentai Carranger a year later.
Biography[]
Past[]
As with all members of the Machine Empire Baranoia, Cat Signal was built by Emperor Bacchus Wrath and Empress Hysteria some 65 million years ago on Planet Baranoia. Along with the rest of the Machine Beasts and the Barlo Soldiers, Locker Knight helped them to devastate and conquer multiple planets.
Ohranger[]
Millions of years later, in 1999, Bacchus Wrath and his Empire return to Earth and launch an invasion of Earth but the Ohrangers arise to oppose them.
Shortly after the death of Bara Missiler, Prince Buldont decides to kill the Ohrangers overly theatrically. As such, he sets up a movie called the Machine Empire Century with Acha and Kocha and some Barlo Soldiers before recruiting four Machine Beasts to act as the muscle in his plan; Faucetchuck, Locker Knight, Cat Signal and Kabochumpkin as well as Camera Trick to act as his way of kidnapping his "stars." Using Acha and a Cessna to distribute leaflets, Buldont is able to lure people to his film set using a train where Cat Signal is first seen acting as the conductor. When the Ohrangers arrive to save the victims, Buldont begins his movie properly by having Acha and Cat Signal shuffle the children onto a bus which he then scripts to crash and kill everyone on board. When Goro and Yuri infiltrate the main soundstage of Buldont Studio, Cat Signal ambushes them and blasts them before striking them down with a train after blinding them and leaving them to fight Faucetchuck. When the climax of the movie fails as the Ohrangers survive an ambush by Barlo Soldiers and save humans from having thier limbs cut off, Cat Signal and the other Machine Beasts ambush them; Cat Signal using a light to blind them before blasting them down with his allies. Although the Ohrangers then shoot them all with the Big Bang Buster, they survive and merge together into Steam Punk only for all four Machine Beasts to die when he falls from a bridge to his death.
