Biography[]

1986[]

The Lar-Creel pharmaceutical conglomerate is owned by Catalina Creel and Carlos Larios, a married couple. Catalina had convinced everyone that José Carlos, her eldest son, is actually her stepson, and that he had gouged out her right eye as a toddler while playing with a spinning top, but this is a lie.

This was done in order for Carlos to prefer Alejandro, his only son from his marriage to Catalina Creel; they also managed to sabotage José Carlos' self-esteem. To keep her secret hidden, Catalina constantly wears a patch over her right eye, giving the impression that she has an immobile glass eye covered in gauze and a patch that matches her clothes color on top of it. However, when Carlos discovers Catalina without the patch, he resolves to modify his will and divorce her, but he is poisoned by his wife and dies as a result.

An prominent Lar-Creel official, Reynaldo Gutiérrez, discovers that Catalina murdered her employer, but she threatens to implicate him, so he is compelled to remain silent and elevated to vice president of Lar-Creel. The family companies would only pass to their children, Alejandro and José Carlos, if they in turn had children, according to the will. The caste's perpetuity was sought in this way.

José Carlos is still single because he is a compulsive gambler, and Catalina has been in charge of sabotaging his love connections, particularly the one he had with Paulina, motivated by the fact she had other partners.

Around the holiday season, Catalina is discovered in New York without her usual patch and with a perfectly healthy eye by Mario Escudero, the family jeweler. Previously, Escudero had commissioned a jewel in the form of a brooch for Catalina, with a cheap glass eye in the center, as a hint for her duplicity, from the late Carlos Larios. Catalina threatens to react if the man tries to tell the facts to José Carlos and Alejandro. Escudero approaches José Carlos in a parking lot and tells him the complete truth so that he can be free of his guilt. However, Catalina intercepts the call and arrives at the appointment ahead of José Carlos, killing Escudero in cold blood. Dr. Terán is offered payment in exchange for his secrecy, and Catalina tells where he may find Doña Esperanza. As a result, Dr. Terán can ensure that the elderly woman obtains quality care.

Catalina (Murder Outfit)

A year later, Reynaldo Gutiérrez, who knows that Catalina murdered Escudero and poisoned her husband, is willing to tell the whole truth to the police after being accused by Catalina of her husband's death, when Alejandro enquired about the subject, and the Escudero-Gutierrez partnership. Unfortunately, Catalina arrived ahead of the authorities and executes Gutiérrez by injecting him with poison to make the crime appear to be suicide, which the authorities doubt. Catalina meets Alejandro while fleeing the crime scene, who notices her disguised in the raincoat and blonde wig.

Bertha, Catalina's personal secretary, discovers Catalina in the disguise in which she has committed the murders in the Larios mansion. Bertha understands that her employer is the murderer of Escudero and Gutiérrez (whom she tries in vain to warn of Catalina's plans). As a result, Catalina tells Bertha the whole truth, including her eye's secret. Bertha, who has gotten several favors from Catalina since then, resolves to remain silent, primarily because she is afraid of the lady she now recognizes as a psychopath.

Rosalía ignites a fire in the clinic on Catalina's orders in order to kill Bertha, even more so after discovering that her husband had tortured her. Meanwhile, Catalina manipulated her children to leave Leonara in unquestionable situations and show her that the conflict continues.

Now that Leonora knows Catalina's secret, she persuades Elvia (the Larios mansion's housekeeper) to let her search Catalina's room for the pin with the glass eye. Catalina attempts to kill the young woman, and Leonora warns her that if anything happens to her, Bertha will emerge. Rosalía is transferred to live with Catalina in the Larios mansion, but when the police discover that she is the nurse set the clinic on fire, Catalina devises a plan for Rosalía's escape by dressing her up as a killer and giving her a weapon. Rosalía is killed by the police in Buenavista Station after she refuses to be apprehended. When questioned by Commander Luna, Catalina claims that Rosalía was the one who killed Escudero and Gutiérrez.

As a result, the authorities tend to suspect Catalina of the killings, but they don't have enough evidence to bring her to justice. As the agents come closer to the truth, Catalina forced herself to use a variety of deceptions to mask evidence that could demonstrate her innocence. Catalina admits the truth to Alejandro and Vilma, who are appalled by the truth behind the patch.

Catalina (Birthday)

Catalina celebrates her birthday by throwing a costume party, to which Leonora shows up disguised in the outfits Catalina wore during her slayings. Catalina is enraged, and Alejandro is sent to take her to her room. At that point, Leonora confesses to Alejandro that Catalina also murdered Carlos Larios. When Alejandro asks Catalina about it, she accepts it, so Alejandro decides to distance himself from his mother, even sending little Edgar to his in-laws.

Bertha reemerges and takes control of a travel agency under an alias and has Lucero as an ally. While Mauricio, a loyal assistant to the Larios, especially Alejandro, arrives to the agency to book a trip (the trip Catalina rewarded him for her silence), Bertha fully understood in her mind of him and what he is trying to accomplish. She devised a trap to Mauricio to get the full scoop of Catalina. However, her trap soon led to a downward spiral. Catalina compares her and the alias Bertha used as the same person, which she decides to meet with her and eliminate her. In addition to discover Bertha's whereabouts, she also discover Lucero and strangled her to death. Catalina chased Bertha by vehicle, but Catalina ended up crashing.

Following the accident, Catalina is escorted to a clinic, where the doctor informs José Carlos that Catalina has perfect vision in both eyes. José Carlos decides to confront Catalina by exposing each of her crimes during a dinner at the Larios mansion, where only the two of them are present; he also gives him a sample of the same poison that he used to murder his father and confesses that he already knows the truth and has never lost an eye. With all of these abrupt changes, the stress in the Larios' atmosphere increases to the point that Catalina loses control of everything and her deadly intentions turn against her. Catalina chooses to assassinate José Carlos, who had planned a flight with Leonora and little Edgar aboard the family plane, by tampering with the equipment's fuel tank.

After getting the testimony of Mauricio and Bertha, Inspector Suárez goes after Catalina to detain her. Catalina, on the other hand, murders the inspector while walking near the pool: she first distracts him with a sprained ankle, then throws him into the water adjacent to a running lawnmower, electrocuting him. While Commander Luna and Licenciado Curiel (the Larios' lawyer) see the inspector's body, Catalina receives a call from Captain Gudini at the airport, reporting that the plane exploded in the air shortly after departure, and your son has died. Catalina became overjoyed because she believed she had succeeded her plan and neutralized her stepson. However, when she discovers that she murdered her own child and spouse, she arranges an orange juice with the same poison she used to murder her husband, dresses in her assassin outfit, strips away her eyepatch, consumes the juice, and eventually died. The authorities then take her body away.
