A Brute, the villain equivalent of a "tank" or "brick" as well as the exact opposite of a weakling, is basically a character who is physically strong and/or possesses incredible strength, often coupled with durability; much stronger than a typical thug or fighter, but often not as bright.
Alternatively, a brute is also a villain who usually has a huge force, thanks to aspects in their minds, like a poor impulse control, rage, mental illness/insanity, or extremely wild or barbaric state of mind and among others. Examples are Jack Torrance, the Joker from The Dark Knight, Edwin Epps, the Earl of Lemongrab, Abomination, Juggernaut from Marvel Comics, Big Jack Horner, Kingpin from Into the Spider-Verse, The Beast from Amnesia, Chris Walker, and etc.
