~ Awful Alvin to Lampy.
Introduce a little anarchy, upset the established order - and everything becomes CHAOS! I'm an agent of chaos. Oh; and you know the thing about chaos? It's fair!
~ The Joker explains his personal worldview to Harvey Dent.
Greed is for amateurs. Disorder, chaos, anarchy - now that's fun!

Chaotic Evil alignment, also known as the "Destroyer" alignment consists of evildoers are violently opposed to any limitations to their own personal freedom and often champion the downfall of society or morality. Chaotic Evil villains often fall under the "Destroyer" or "Demonic" alignment. The neutral (and less evil) counterpart of Chaotic Evil is Chaotic Neutral, while their complete opposite is Lawful Good, with the morality opposite being Chaotic Good and the Law/Chaos opposite being Lawful Evil.

Characters of this alignment tend to have very little to no respect for rules, other people's lives, or anything but their own desires, which are typically selfish and cruel; they set a high value on personal freedom, but do not have any regard for the lives or freedom of other people. They do not work well in groups, as they resent being given orders and usually behave themselves either out of fear of greater powers that bind them or in order to achieve their goals. However, this does NOT mean every Chaotic Evil character will mindlessly destroy, but if the opportunity arises for them to cause mischief or harm to others while still furthering their own goals (which are normally personal enjoyment), they will not hesitate to act on it.

It is not compulsory for a Chaotic Evil character to be constantly performing sadistic acts just for the sake of being evil or constantly disobeying orders just for the sake of causing chaos. They do, however, enjoy the suffering of others (for the most part) and view honor and self-discipline as weaknesses. However, it is possible for Chaotic Evils to have some standards and lines they won't cross and, in extremely rare cases, a sense of honor (e.g. Disney’s Hades, Count Bleck, Two-Face, Eren Yeager, Trevor Philips, Jason Voorhees, Michael Myers (remake), Bendy, Bigby Wolf, Adam West Batman’s Joker, Frankenstein's Monster, Giygas, T-3000, Thanos, The Beast, Dormin, Sakyo, Ukei Kaito and Vaas Montenegro).

However, the vast majority of Chaotic Evils are devoid of these qualities (e.g. Freddy Krueger, Michael Myers (original), Chucky, William Afton, Henry Evans, Ramsay Bolton, Douma, Isaac Ray Peram Westcott, Zoom, Top Dollar, HABIT, Bill Cipher, Carnage, Joker, IT/Pennywise, Drago Bludvist, Herrscher of the Void, Lucas Baker, Kefka Palazzo, Evolt, and Utrom Shredder).

Chaotic Evil is often feared as it is the alignment of monsters with very limited intelligence, eldritch abominations, serial rapists, terrorists, zombies and cannibals. Nevertheless, the Chaotic Evil outsiders are the demons.
