Death Gods or Psychopomps as they are sometimes referred, are personifications of Death itself who rule over the souls of the departed or are its Harbingers.
Death Gods tend to be Greedy Collectors of Souls who plot against life or ally with evil figures, but are simultaneously Necessary Evil since they are needed to maintain the cycles of life and death.
Examples of Death Gods:
- The Grim Reaper was the personification of death in Western European mythology.
- Hela was the death goddess of Norse mythology.
- Thanatos was the death god of Greek mythology.
