Elementals can command, are formed of or empowered by the elements of nature or physics. Subtypes include but are not limited to:

• Aerokinetic Villains like Al'Akir, Morro and Whirlwind have the ability to control wind and air. Some can also become air or use it to manipulate speed.
• Aquakinetic or Hydrokinetic Villains like Amon, Chaos, Hydro-Man and Lapis Lazuli use water and other liquids. They may have the power to generate, manipulate water and/or become water.
• Atmokinetic Villains like Storm King possess the ability to control the weather.
• Chlorokinetic Villains like Poison Ivy, Bushroot and Audrey II can control plant life.
• Cryokinetic Villains like Arthas Menethil, Snow Queen, Douma, Killer Frost, Esdeath and Skrael can use ice and/or snow-based powers.
• Electrokinetic Villains like Electro, Newtralizer and Livewire use electricity. They may have the power to generate and/or manipulate electricity and some have the ability to become it.
• Ferokinetic Villains like Shrapnel, Peridot, and General Rildo use metal. This means they can control metal in ways from making it levitate, to causing it bend and shape to their will.
• Geokinetic Villains like Gaea, Kuvira and False Groudon have the power to control the earth (rock, sand and ground; not the actual planet) and/or cause natural disasters such as earthquakes.
• Pyrokinetic Villains or Pyrotic Villains like The Wicked Witch of the West (1939), Fire Lord Ozai, Entei, Dabi, Azula, Aspheera, Magmion and Bellroc are associated with pyrotic energy; this includes weapons that produce fire like Kratos and the ability to produce and/or control fire at will like Hotstreak and Pyro.
• Umbrakinetic Villains like Sauron, Aku, The Overlord, King Sombra and Marshall D. Teach and Ebon who control darkness and can shape them into physical objects.

In cases like Gil Yepes, Morgoth, Master Chen, Bill Cipher, Discord, Isaac Ray Peram Westcott, and Zhan Tiri, villains can have multiple elemental abilities or access them through Magic.
