Heretics oppose the mainstream religious or political system of their society or culture and while not always villainious are often shunned as a result - villainous heretics tend towards such dark paths as demon worship or dark magic.

This can also be used to describe villains that are blasphemous, especially in regards to major world faiths - though do not confuse them with Defilers.
