Judge Dredd is arguably one of the most well-known UK-based superheroes of all time, though in truth he is more of an anti-hero and inhabits a post-apocalyptic world were special law-enforcers known as Judges have the power of "judge, jury and executioner": in a world were Dredd's word is law there is bound to be a plentiful supply of villains who not only question the rule of the Judges but may seek their destruction, many Dredd villains are complete sociopaths prone to mass-murder and worse.
