Characters and/or organizations involved in the distribution/creation of snuff films or acting in them. In popular culture, this applies to villains who enjoy watching others being subjected to torture while exploring and/or describing it in (gruesomely unpleasant) details.

A snuff film can be made for profit but the term "snuff filmer" can also describe people who record heinous acts as a form of entertainment and/or business.

Good examples of Snuff filmers include: Andrew Detmer, Blaire Lily, Claire Hennessey, Choi Yoon-Jae, Chris McLean, Patrick Bateman, Gil Yepes, Kip Snip, Louis Bloom, Kurt Kunkle, Lionel Starkweather, September Jones, Water Street Butcher and Alan Yates.
