Superorganisms

Superorganisms are a type of Hostile Species believed to have hive-mind mentalities allowing them to work as a whole rather than individually and be extremely powerful as a result. Due to most sentient beings valuing individuality, they are often employed as villains in fiction. However, some Superorganisms can just have capabilities beyond what peak Humanoid physiology would have to offer.

Famous examples are the Borgs, Daleks, Harvesters and Xenomorphs.
