Cathy (Fuelled) has been targeted for termination for the following reason(s):
The only crime she committed was accidental and it's heavily implied she turned herself in to the police afterwards

Please discuss it on the talk page for this article.

Stop X

Cathy is the main protagonist of animator Killedthecat Production's 2021 animated short film titled Fuelled.

She's the widow who, wanting to avenge her late husband, searches for the robber who was responsible for her husband's death after a break-in that happened in her former house that was set on fire by the robber.

However, before she can reach her destination, her car runs out of gas. Without money to pay for more, she resorts to stealing some from a gas station, only for disaster to occur once more.

History[]

Backstory[]

Originally a sweet and quite happy calico cat, as shown in flashbacks, Cathy is shown to have obviously changed drastically since then. She went to school with her late black cat husband, where they first met after he caught her from slipping down the steps of the bus.

It's assumed that after a while they fell in love, as they later go on a date, roller skating in Stardust Skating. After a while, they eventually marry each other.

Likely on the night of the murder, they slow dance to The Peerless Quartet's Let Me Call You Sweetheart. They later go to bed, keeping the music on as the husband reads and Cathy is sound asleep. A robber then breaks into their house and ends up killing Cathy's husband. He later burns the house down, likely in a failed attempt to kill Cathy too and get rid of the evidence.

Biography[]

At the beginning of the short, Cathy's seen sitting shocked in front of her house, which is taped off with yellow tape, covered in a blanket as a policeman hands her the sketch of the robber, which she takes from him. Once she recognizes the killer, she crumples the picture, now filled with anger. She spends time tracking down the robber, finding his location and an opportune time to attack him before driving off to complete her revenge quest.

In the middle of driving to the robber, she runs out of gas and gets herself stranded in the forest. She finds a very near gas station on her map, but upon grabbing her wallet she sees that she has only one coin. Nevertheless, she walks in the cold to the gas station, cautiously grabbing a Jerry can and filling it up, hoping the gas station cashier doesn't notice. Though, right as she finishes the cashier comes out, expecting pay. But instead, Cathy attempts to flee unsuccessfully, only to get caught by the cashier.

Unable to overpower him, she scratches his leg in desperation, and the cashier retaliates by striking her in the head, soon managing to kick her back. Cathy then smashes a bottle as the cashier has his back turned, calling 911. Suddenly, Cathy starts seeing red, having a flashback of her husband's killer. She charges at him, but Cathy doesn't seem to stab him before his cigarette falls into a puddle of gas that was spilled during the fight, which then ignites the gas pumps, causing a large fire to erupt.

Cathy wakes as the flames engulf most of her surroundings, seemingly only with a superficial head wound that bleeds down her arm. Though the unconscious or dead cashier lay in front of her, she quickly takes the Jerry can and leaves for her car with a smile on her face. She hurriedly pours the gas into her tank, spilling a good amount of the gas before she discards the can. She gets in the car and slams the door, ripping the killer's picture that hangs in front of the rear view mirror, revealing the mirror behind it.

Cathy shakily inserts the key, turning on the car. She collects her thoughts and maps before she checks the burglar's picture, only finding that her eyes replace the killer's. Only after a moment of thought does she understand what she's become, recoiling in fear of her own reflection. She stares down at the wedding photo of her late husband and her, remembering what sent her on this revenge game.

In this heel realization moment, she begins to cry over her loss and what she has done. She grabs her phone and walks back toward the gas station, calling 911. She doesn't respond to the caller as she sits with her knees to her chest in the snow, watching the gas station burn.

Appearance[]

Cathy is an anthropomorphic female calico cat with brown paws, ears and spot on right side of her head, yellow sclera with large black pupils, a piece taken out of her left ear (post-robbery), and bent whiskers (post-robbery). She is also shown to have bags under her eyes.

On the night the crime occurred, she was seen wearing blue pajamas. While looking for the criminal, she wears red a dress and blue ascot.
