~ Catwoman

Selina Kyle, also known as Catwoman, is a supporting antagonist in the DC Animated Universe. She is a thief who Batman tries to stop, despite their mutual attraction.

She was voiced by Adrienne Barbeau who also voiced Helga Von Guggen in Totally Spies and Simone Lenoir in Scooby Doo on Zombie Island.

Biography[]

Background[]

Selina Kyle grew up in a wealthy family in Gotham City. She was an animal rights activist known for contributing her vast wealth to various animal charities. Selina lived a double life as a costumed thief, stealing riches and jewels from various other wealthy entrepreneurs, museums, and companies to help fund her lifestyle and thwart corrupt companies violating animal rights.

Meeting Batman[]

One night in Gotham City, Catwoman performed one of her usual thefts with her pet cat, Isis. The two of them broke into an expensive apartment as the owner slept and silently stole a valuable necklace, avoiding all the security lasers. Unknown to Catwoman though, they were being observed by Batman, and as she and Isis prepared to head home, Batman swooped down and blocked their path.

It was love at first sight for Catwoman, who was instantly infatuated with the Dark Knight, letting out a swooned "Magnificent" at the sight of him. Despite her attraction, Catwoman flees from Batman as he approaches her, leaping from the building top and with a combination of her whip and acrobatic skills safely lands on a lower building. Thinking she had escaped the Dark Knight, Catwoman relaxed herself, only for her and Isis to be shocked when Batman was shown to have easily caught up to them already. Catwoman was impressed by this and continued to flee, with Batman chasing her across several rooftops.

Batman eventually cornered Catwoman in an alleyway as she tried to flee down a fire escape, but Catwoman attacked him in response. The two traded blows and seemed evenly matched, but Catwoman ultimately emerged victorious by knocking over a large pile of trash cans that collapse on top of Batman. Catwoman fleed while Batman digs himself out and continues his pursuit, but Isis fell behind during the chase and was almost hit by a truck in the middle of the road, with Catwoman too far to save her. Fortunately, Batman swooped in just in time and rescued the helpless cat. With Isis safe, Catwoman blowed on a cat-white, calling her up to her. Happily reunited with her pet, Catwoman glanced down at Batman, and blew him a kiss before making her escape.

Red Claw[]

Later that night, Selina attended a charity auction for animal preserves, with the most eligible bachelors in Gotham being put up for a chance to bid for a date. When Bruce Wayne was put up, Selina shocked the crowd by bidding ten thousand dollars on him. Bruce was instantly attracted to her, and approached her after the bidding, but she told him he was "off the hook" since she was only interested in donating to the animal preservation. Bruce insisted on still taking her out on a date as per the agreement though, so Selina agreed to a lunch date.

The next day, as Selina is preparing for her date with Bruce, her secretary Maven congratulated her for it. However, Selina shows more interest in Batman than Bruce, speaking fondly of her encounter with the Dark Knight, while unaware of the irony that the two were one and the same. Shortly after Bruce arrived though, Selina received a call from her lawyer telling her a deal she had made was called off, upsetting her. Maven and Selina explain to Bruce that Selina had been trying to purchase land for a mountain lion preserve but Multigon International had now taken it. To their amazement, Bruce manages to get Selina a meeting with the company chairman, Stern, and Selina remarks she's starting to like Bruce.

The meeting does not go well however, with Stern explaining his company will build a huge resort on the land while Selina argues the resort is in the middle of nowhere and will be useless compared to helping the wild cats. When Stern gives an implied threat, saying the cats will be "taken care of one way or another" Selina becomes outraged and threatens to alert the environmentalists and have the company kept under close watch. After she and Bruce left though, Stern spoke to the terrorist Red Claw, who ordered Selina to be tailed in order to make sure she didn't interfere with their plans. Selina returned later that night as Catwoman, and she and Isis searched the office, eventually found Multigon's hidden safe and began to take photos of the files inside.

Catwoman takes too long gathering evidence though, and is discovered by Red Claw and her men. Catwoman and Isis manage to escape into the air vents but the thugs purse her, with orders to kill her. She managed to set up obstacles to slow them down, leaving cat-shaped spikes in the vent and blocking the door to the roof. Catwoman then jumped across the ledge to the roof of another building, but Red Claw shoots an explosive at the ledge after her. Catwoman orders Isis to jump off her to safety, before the ledge is blown off and she begins falling to her death. Fortunately, Batman swings by and catches Catwoman in his arms.

Grateful over this, Catwoman calls Batman her hero and passionately kisses him on the lips, to his shock. Once they are safely on another roof, Catwoman finishes kissing Batman and says that was thanks for saving her cat in their last meeting. The two flirt with each other briefly, before Batman tries to unmask Catwoman, with her stopping him, wanting to "keep the mystery" between them. Batman says if he doesn't unmask her the police will, but Catwoman doesn't believe he would do that to her. When Batman says that the law was between them, and he couldn't let her go, Catwoman realized he was serious and turned away from him sadly. Batman attempted to comfort her, placing a hand on her shoulder while saying he was sorry, only for her to suddenly grab him and flip him off the roof, with him grabbing a lower ledge to save himself. Looking down at him, Catwoman angrily tells him to never trifle with the affections of a woman, growling a bitter "Until next time," before walking away and leaving him dangling, with Batman silently agreeing that there will be a next time. Catwoman returned home after this, where she shared her success with Maven, believing they can now save the mountain lions, unaware that one of Red Claws thugs was spying on them from a distance and just saw her unmask herself.

The next morning, Selina was picked up by Bruce in an attempt to go on their date again, but they are attacked by some of Red Claw's men that try to force their car off the bridge. Bruce manages to outmaneuver them with some driving skills, and takes Selina back home safely. Before Selina enters her apartment, Bruce asks her if anything is wrong and if he can help her, saying he cares about her a lot. She thanks him for worrying and kisses him on the cheek, but she assures him she can take care of herself and will be okay.

Selina realizes the attempt on her life is related to Multigon, and suits up as Catwoman to investigate, leaving Isis behind with Maven. She successfully infiltrated the Multigon site and began taking photos of the weapons there, but was ambushed by some of Red Claw's thugs from behind. Batman arrives and saves her, but both are captured in their escape attempt. The two are tied up in a bunker made to protect government officials from nuclear fallout, and Red Claw leaves the virus she stole with the two of them, explaining it is too dangerous to keep and she plans to release a fake plague on Gotham while keeping the 10 billion dollar ransom money.

With acid slowly eating through the seal on the virus and Red Claw's men evacuating, Catwoman manages to free them from their restraints with her claws. Batman tells her to escape while he destroys the plague first, and she reluctantly agrees to leave him, escaping the facility. Batman successfully destroys the virus, and the GCPD, having been informed of the location by Batman beforehand, arrive to arrest the terrorists. But Red Claw attacks Catwoman in a rage for ruining her plan. Before she can finish Catwoman off though, she is attacked from behind by one of the mountain lions, knocking her off the cliff to protect Catwoman. Catwoman thanks the lion, and before escaping into the shadows blows Batman a goodbye kiss.

Catwoman returns to her apartment, finding that Maven is gone. Batman arrives shortly behind her, revealing he knows her identity, and explains the terrorists knew who she was and tried to kill Maven before he got her to safety. Catwoman asks him if he told the police about her yet, and he says no, since he didn't want her arrested like a common criminal, finally confessing his feelings for her. Catwoman, touched knowing he loves her too, attempts to lean in to kiss him, only for Batman to sadly place her under arrest while telling her he cares about her "more than you will ever know".

Catwoman Returns[]

Months later, Selina stood trial for her crimes as Catwoman, where she pleaded guilty to all charges. Despite the judge acknowledging that these thefts were for the benefit of several animals and wildlife, this was not a mitigating factor and carried a 25-year jail sentence. However, because she helped Batman save Gotham City from annihilation, she was given a much lighter sentence of five years' probation. The courtroom erupted in applause at this, but the judge silenced everyone, stating she was not done yet. The judge warned Selina that if she ever dawned her Catwoman persona to commit crime again, her probation would be revoked and she would be shown no mercy for her crimes. Selina agreed to these terms.

Selina returned home, only to discover that Isis had ran away while she was imprisoned, with Maven thinking she left to go look for Selina. Selina searched Gotham City trying to find Isis, not having any luck, until she met some friendly stray cats. She fought two thugs, Paunch and Jessy, to protect them when they tried catching them. Selina holds her own against them, but when they gain the upper hand, Batman arrives to assist her. The two share a romantic moment together, almost sharing a kiss together, until the police arrive and Batman flees the scene. The thugs claim Selina attacked them while they were trying to find a home for the stray cats, but despite Selina denying this, all three of them are arrested by the police.

Selina is released later that night thanks to Bruce paying her bail. Selina thanks Bruce, but tells him she only likes him as a friend, which he understands. Though Selina is more interested why the two thugs she fought had a professional lawyer from Daggett Industries working for them. Bruce warns Selina not to get involved, worried this could look bad for her, but Selina assures him "You won't see Selina Kyle anywhere near Daggett Labs". She never said anything about "Catwoman" though, and breaks into Daggett Labs later that night in costume.

While investigating, she finds Isis in a cage in one of the labs, having been experimented on. Catwoman frees her and tries to comfort her pet, but the virus Isis has been infected with takes effect and she goes rabid, biting Catwoman's hand. This causes a commotion that attracts a few thugs, alerting them to Catwoman's presence. Catwoman manages to escape but Isis runs away from her, and as she tries to follow her, Catwoman slowly becomes weak and dizzy, the virus already beginning to affect her.

Fortunately, she is found by Batman, who came to investigate Roland Daggett. He can't take her to a hospital or Daggett will have her arrested, so he takes her to a safe house, where he tries to nurse her back to health. She tells him what she saw to him and how Isis bit her. While Batman leaves Selina to try to rest, he investigates Daggett's lab himself, interrogating Paunch, and discovers Daggett has abducted several animals from off Gotham's streets and has infected them with his own self-made virus and plans to release them back onto the streets so he can make a fortune selling the antidote he has already created to all the infected citizens.

Despite Batman facing trouble with two of Daggett's goons and an infected dog, he manages to defeat his pursuers and eventually makes it back to Selina and gives her the antidote to the virus. Batman and Catwoman bring this evidence against Daggett to the authorities, and are once again hailed as heroes, while Daggett is put under investigation while he pled innocence to the charges. Despite this victory, Selina still felt sad due to the absence of Isis. But Batman had already found and cured Isis for her, and while Selina was sulking in her apartment, he discreetly returned her to Selina by lowering her down in a basket, and the pet and owner happily reunited.

After this, Selina continued as a vigilante for a time. At one point, Selina was assaulted one late night at the Gotham Zoo after hours by the ape-man Garth, who took her to his master, mad scientist Emile Dorian. He was seeking a mate for his creation, Tygrus, and due to Selina's love for cats she was the perfect candidate. He mutated her into a literal catwoman, with Batman arriving too late to save her. Emile then pitted Batman and Tygrus in a survival match against each other with Selina as the prize. Selina however managed to free herself and find Batman, convincing Tygrus that Batman was not their enemy and tells him he won't win her love by killing him.

Batman and Selina returned to the lab to try to find the antidote for Selina, but when Emile blamed Selina for Tygrus now showing weakness and attempted to kill her, Tygrus went into a rage and turned against Emile to protect her and destroyed the lab in the process. Catwoman mourns for the apparent death of Tygrus, but he quickly emerges, handing Emile over to Batman so he can receive medical attention and face justice. As Selina is in despair over the antidote being destroyed meaning she will be a literal catwoman forever, Tygrus offers her to stay with him, but she says she can't live like that. So Tygrus gives her the antidote he saved for her, wanting her to be happy, and says goodbye. Selina offers him to come with them, but he says there is nothing left for him in the world now.

She later saved Batman from the Joker and Harley Quinn, only to end up getting captured by them herself with Joker planning to kill her to make Batman suffer. But Batman was able to save her after discovering her location, and the two shared a brief flirtation, with Catwoman confessing her feelings to Batman and imploring him to reveal his identity to her. Batman avoids answering, however, and pulls his usual disappearing act on her when she briefly looks away, causing Catwoman to smile and muse "Almost got im" to herself.

Return to Life of Crime[]

Despite her apparent reformation and growing relationship with Batman, Selina still occasionally longed for her old life as a thief. She remembered how free she felt and the risks she took, but upon being caught by Batman was essentially imprisoned, feeling out of place around Bruce and his colleagues. This eventually leads to her being manipulated by the Ventriloquist and Scarface, who convince her to steal some jewels from the wealthy Vreeland family to get some revenge for the animals they hunted in the past. But Scarface was just using Catwoman as a diversion to steal the real target, the stuffed extinct animals in the museum. Catwoman plays innocent with Batman to hide her involvement, until she realizes how Scarface tricked her. At which point she betrays Batman and attacks him so she can go after Scarface herself for revenge, unaware Batman was tracking her via Isis.

Catwoman breaks into Scarface's hideout to find him and his goons with the stolen stuffed animals, but when she is discovered Scarface drops the log she is hiding on and knocks her out. He attempts to kill her while she is knocked out, but although she wakes up and escapes from the conveyor belt and saw she is captured again by Scarface's goon Rhino. Batman arrives and saves Catwoman by fighting off the goons, and Catwoman takes her revenge on Scarface by throwing him onto the saw himself, but when the Ventriloquist stops the conveyor belt, Catwoman drops a set of logs on Scarface instead. She then attempts to attack the Ventriloquist for his role in tricking her and costing her her freedom, only for Batman to stop her and say she did it to herself. Catwoman sadly tells Batman she has to be who she is and can't change that. She quickly tosses the stuffed Tasmanian Tiger into the flames, forcing Batman to choose between arresting her or saving it. He chooses the latter and Catwoman escapes, but this event sadly left a permanent mark on her relationship with Batman, with him never trusting her again after this.

Catwoman later returned, intending to steal the Jade Cat statue, only to find it had already been stolen. She encountered Batgirl, who thought she stole it, but Catwoman quickly proved it wasn't her since the theft didn't fit her usual style. After escaping from Robin, Catwoman managed to contact Batgirl and proposed the two of them work together to find the real thief, since Batgirl had impressed her. Batgirl agrees on the condition that if she finds out Catwoman is lying she will give herself up, which Catwoman agrees to and shakes on. The two head to the Stacked Deck to find information and interrogate The Chemist on who could have melted the padlock to the museum, but end up caught in a massive bar brawl. They flee on a stolen motorcycle and escape the police, and Catwoman manages to deduce who is responsible from the info they gathered; Roland Daggett.

Catwoman takes Batgirl to Daggett's laboratory, where Daggett created the cream that turned Matt Hagen into Clayface and the virus that almost killed Catwoman and Isis. They eventually find the statue in a safe, only for Daggett and his men to appear from the shadows, holding the two at gunpoint, and capture them. Daggett admits he stole the Jade Cat to frame Catwoman, since it is exactly what she would take, and he plans to sell it to start over again since he has become broke after his last encounter with Batman. Not willing to take any chances with the vigilantes anymore, Daggett plans to shot them dead and drop them into the acid vats to destroy the evidence, but the two are saved by the timely arrival of Robin. The trio manage to beat all the thugs and Catwoman goes after Daggett himself. She catches him and steals the Jade Cat from him, and seeking revenge for the virus incident, intends to drop him into the acid vat. Batgirl catches Daggett with a chain and Catwoman makes her escape, but when Robin takes care of Daggett, Batgirl pursues Catwoman. She quickly catches Catwoman and reclaims the Jade Cat. Catwoman confesses that she was planning to steal the statue all along, but did legitimately enjoy working with Batgirl. She proposes the two of them team up permanently, stating nobody in Gotham could stop them, not even Batman or the police. Batgirl seems tempted by this at first, until Catwoman unknowingly insults her father Gordon, causing her to refuse and remind her of their deal. Catwoman turns herself in as promised and informs the police that Batgirl is innocent, but as she is taken away, she immediately frees herself and kicks the police out of their car, pointing out she only promised to turn herself in but not how far she would let them take her, driving off in their vehicle.

Teaming with Nightwing[]

A few years later, Catwoman continued her life of crime in Gotham. One night, she assisted Nightwing in taking down some smugglers from South Africa by stopping one from escaping. She calls it “a gift” for Nightwing and blows him a kiss before leaving. Nightwing does not pursue her due to her helping him, thinking she is turning her life around.

Catwoman later joined Nightwing in his investigation of the smugglers; identifying their leader as Enrique El Gancho, while also flirting with Nightwing. They sneak into Enrique’s home and access the shipping schedule documents, with Nightwing transferring them to a disk before being caught by Enrique and two of his goons. Catwoman manages to save him by taking out the two gunmen while he takes out Enrique, and the two flee together, managing to narrowly escape their pursuers in a pool. The two agree they work well together and part ways after flirting.

Batman arrives at Selina’s apartment, warning her to stay away from Nightwing and stating he doesn’t trust her. Selina claims that is why it never would have worked between them. Nightwing arrives shortly afterwards, defending Selina from Batman by stating she has been straight with him and that Batman just never gave her a chance. Batman leaves, saying he has no choice but to trust Nightwing, even if he doesn’t trust Selina. Selina tries to flirt with Nightwing, but he keeps them on business by revealing he found something important in the documents they got. The big shipment he heard rumors about is coming in tonight, and Selina proposes another team-up between them, wrapping her whip around his neck affectionately. Nightwing reveals a miniature Bat-tracer on her whip planted by Batman, stating that he apparently doesn’t trust either of them, and the two decide to use it to lead Batman and Batgirl on a wild goose chase by planting it on Isis, with Catwoman telling her to have a “night on the town”.

Catwoman and Nightwing arrive at the docks and quickly find the ship they are looking for, the Little Angel. They silently board it and Nightwing finds several smuggled artifacts. However, Catwoman separates from him and starts smashing several artifacts, until she finds what she is looking for, the Cat’s Eye Emerald. She explains that she stole it and had secretly stashed it in the smuggled cargo, knowing it would eventually reach Gotham, but didn’t know when it would arrive. She used Nightwing to discover when the cargo would arrive and was easily able to obtain it.

Nightwing realizes she played him for a “sap”, but she cuddles up to him, calling him “such a sweet sap”. She offers to split the money she will make from the Cat’s Eye with him and travel anywhere in the world with him, surprising him with a kiss on the lips, but Nightwing pushes her off him, saying he can’t do that. Catwoman sighs sadly and says she had to try before suddenly attacking Nightwing and trapping him in a heavy net, saying she really did like him. To her shock though, Batman and Batgirl make their presence known and Batman frees Nightwing with his batarangs. Nightwing cockily walks over to the two of them while saying Batman was right, Catwoman lead them right to the emerald. Catwoman is outraged to find out that Nightwing set her up the whole time.

Unfortunately, Enrique and his goons arrive and interrupt the confrontation. The Bat-family easily takes down Enrique's goons as Catwoman makes a break for it, with Nightwing leaving Enrique to Batman while he goes after Catwoman. Catwoman tries to escape via motorboat, but Nightwing manages to glide after her, with her trying to shoot him down with a flare gun. Nightwing dodges her first shot and dive bombs her before she can shoot again, causing her second shot to accidentally set her own boat on fire. The two continue fighting despite this, with Catwoman attempting to drown Nightwing as the boat heads towards a massive propeller of an ocean liner. Nightwing manages to overpower her, grabbing her and jumping off with her into the water before the boat crashes and blows up. Catwoman is knocked out, but Nightwing manages to keep the two afloat on wreckage. Batgirl quickly picks them up in the Batboat, with this presumably leading to Catwoman's arrest.

The Cat Cult[]

Sometime later, Catwoman stole a golden statute of a cat from an estate, not knowing she had just stolen from a cat cult and had incurred their wrath. She managed to evade them and escape from the estate, and the cult’s leader, Thomas Blake, ordered them to capture her.

They chase Catwoman throughout Gotham and eventually corner her, with her offering to just give back the statue and call it even, but they reply that only her death can sanctify the statue. She manages to escape from them and seeks Batman for protection. He agrees to help her, but only if she agrees to return everything she has ever stolen. Catwoman reluctantly agrees.

The two go to Catwoman’s hideout and investigate the cult chasing Catwoman. Batman explains the cult to Catwoman, saying she has gotten in over her head. The cultists find them again and the two try to escape through the furnace, but the cultists discover their escape route and turn up the gas and light it up. The duo barley escapes in time, but Catwoman was captured.

Catwoman woke up chained to an altar, and Blake was impressed Catwoman managed to elude them for so long. Blake goes against his right-hand woman’s wishes and releases Catwoman, believing she can be converted to their cult, and Catwoman decides to play along to buy time for herself. She pretends to be impressed by the cult, stating her love for cats and stealing, almost like she was always a member and just never knew it. She is told she will go through initiation in one hour, and if she passes she will become an official member.

She is taken to a bedroom to wait until initiation, but Batman arrives shortly afterwards having discovered her location. Catwoman doesn’t want to leave without taking some spoils with her, with Batman arguing there is no time for that. She begins to feign repentance for how she can’t seem to stop herself from stealing, begging Batman to help her and stealing a brief kiss from him in the process. As soon as his back is turned though, she knocks him out and tries to drag him away to safety. The cultists hear the noise though and discover Catwoman and the unconscious Batman, deciding to sacrifice Batman to sanctify the statue and welcome Catwoman into the cult.

Batman is stripped of his utility belt and thrown into an arena to be killed by a giant genetically engineered cat monster. However, Catwoman jumps into the arena to save him, standing in front of the cat and managing to tame it. She then sets it on the other cultists while she and Batman escape the arena together. As they attempt to escape, they are attacked by Blake and his right-hand woman. Catwoman easily defeated the female cultist, and while Batman was busy dealing with Blake she took the opportunity to rob the cult blind of most of their wealth.

The GCPD eventually showed up and arrested the cult, as well as taking the giant cat to the Gotham Zoo. Gordon told Batman there was enough evidence to convict the cult but surprisingly there wasn’t all that much, with Batman realizing what Catwoman had done. After all this, Selina realized she could never have a normal relationship with Batman, and retired to Paris, where she lived a wealthy life of luxury with her newly stolen wealth from the cult and having Isis as company.

Chase Me[]

During the events of Batwoman's appearance in Gotham, Bruce Wayne's butler Alfred Pennyworth briefly wondered if it was simply Selina using a new persona. Batman disagreed with this theory, stating that Selina has more regard for human life than Batwoman does, with him eventually being proven right when Batwoman's true identity was revealed.

At some unknown point, Catwoman returned to Gotham to carry out one last heist, robbing Bruce Wayne's personal safe at Wayne Enterprises. Bruce caught her in the act, and she pinned him to the wall with throwing knives while she finished up and made her escape. Unknown to her though, he quickly broke free and headed after her as Batman.

Catwoman quickly finds Batman on the rooftops of Gotham and leads him on a chase through the city. She dives off the roof and lands on a tour bus, pausing to pose for some photos before Batman catches up. They jump onto a tank truck and Catwoman blows out one of the tires, causing the truck to spill out gallons of milk that wash away several ally cats and Harvey Bullock. They move the chase onto a train where Batman briefly catches her in his grappling hook, but she loses him when they go under a tunnel and heads toward the Gotham Zoo.

Batman follows her into the Large Cats exhibit, but she releases a panther to attack Batman. To her shock though, Batman is able to overpower the panther and tie it up. She releases several lions and escapes out the back, but he escapes through the sunroof and sees her run into the aviary. Inside, Catwoman is swarmed by a colony of bats and eventually runs right into Batman. She tries to escape over the gate but is stopped and cornered by Batman.

Realizing she has been caught, Catwoman surrenders and drops her bag of stolen loot. She notices how Batman was scratched earlier during his fight with the panther and leans in to attempt to kiss him, but is pushed away by him. As Catwoman looks down, hurt by his rejection, she misses him shoot a smirk at her before suddenly sweeping her into his arms and kissing her himself. The two make out passionately, before they are interrupted by the untimely arrival of the police.

Catwoman pushes Batman, urging him to leave so he doesn’t get in trouble too. Batman smirks at her, taking the bag of money and leaving. Catwoman smiles, thinking she is being let off the hook, and attempts to leave as well, but finds that she has been handcuffed to the fence while she was distracted during the kiss with Batman. She struggles in vain to escape for a moment, before collapsing to her knees in sadness and defeat.

Legacy[]

Catwoman's costume and equipment were kept by Bruce in the Batcave after his final encounter with her. Decades into the future, long after Bruce Wayne retired as Batman, Selina was no longer part of Bruce’s life, but he still remembered her fondly. He kept pictures of her, both in and out of her costume, in a file of other women he had been close to throughout his life. After one incident where Bruce's protégé and successor as Batman, Terry McGinnis, encountered the Royal Flush Gang for the first time and discovered that Melanie Walker, the girl he was dating at the time, was actually the supervillain Ten, Terry apologizes to Bruce for his earlier outburst and asks him if anything like this has ever happened to him before. Bruce smiles and replies, "Let me tell you about a woman named Selina Kyle."

Trivia[]

  • This version of Catwoman in Batman: The Animated Series has blonde hair (similar to her Burtonverse counterpart) while her mainstream counterpart has black hair. However, in the follow-up, The New Batman Adventures, she has black hair, matching her appearance in the comics.
    • In tie-in comic, Batman: Gotham Adventures #4, it is revealed that Selina had been dying her hair blonde; upon learning that the dye she used from Mercedes Cosmetics had created its beauty products through animal testing (especially on cats), she ceased the practice, thus leaving her hair to return to its natural black hue.
