Hate to cut our first date short, cutie, but I like to leave a man wanting more.
~ Catwoman during her first encounter with Batman

Selina Kyle, better known as Catwoman, is a recurring antagonist and sometimes ally to Batman in The Batman. She is a mysterious cat burglar and thief obsessed with cat themed antiques.

She was voiced by Gina Gershon, who also portrayed Melanie Hawkins in Brooklyn Nine-Nine.

Biography[]

Selina Kyle is a charity fundraiser by day and cat burglar by night. This led her to cross paths with The Batman, when she read a newspaper article about their supposed partnership. Smitten by his handsome image, Selina suits up as Catwoman and sets out to meet him, purposely tripping a silent alarm to lure him out. Upon meeting him, Catwoman invites him to catch her if he can, with him chasing her across several rooftops and the two exchanging flirty banter. Catwoman is surprised by his ability to keep up with her, but this only makes the chase even more thrilling for her, and she eventually stops him by blocking his path under some construction equipment. With Batman seemingly stuck, Catwoman blows him a goodbye kiss and apologizes for cutting their "first date" short before leaving. When Batman catches up to her using a drone to follow her though, she grows tired of running and after disabling the drone and giving a warning of "corner a cat, get scratched" attacks Batman, and after a brief fight between the two tackles him off of the roof. The two crash onto the roof of a lower building, with Catwoman using Batman as a crash pad, softening her own landing and landing on her feet, while he takes the full force of the impact and lands painfully on his back. Standing over the defeated Batman, Catwoman taunts him over how cats "always land on their feet" and steals his utility belt before escaping. Catwoman tries to hack the belt and gain control over the drone Batman used, unknowingly causing every other piece of equipment Batman had to go haywire, until she eventually gets it. Catwoman used the drone to attempt to steal a cat statue again, this time successfully, but realized it belonged to the Yakuza. Batman came to her rescue though, and she returned his utility belt to him without complaint when he ordered it back. They both fought off the ninjas together, Catwoman made her escape before Batman could arrest her, and Yin noted the similarly to the two of them, now firmly believing the two were working together.

When they were both after the same things in the museum Catwoman teamed up with Penguin, hoping to fool him at the end of their "agreement" and take both of the statues. Once the statues were both captured, however, Penguin double-crossed Catwoman first, taking the statues and harnessing their power. Before leaving her however, he handcuffed her to Batman in unbreakable shielding and wiring. The pair went after Penguin and his Kabuki Twins who started to use the statues powers to control and send out very powerful bursts of light that melted anything they touched.

Though Catwoman and Penguin escaped together to get away from The Batman, they were handcuffed by The Batman beforehand, keeping them together, with The Batman holding the only key. Catwoman found a new enemy in Ragdoll, a multi-jointed contortionist able to bend himself in every possible shape he can think of. When they both tried to steal and fence the same items, a rivalry began to brew between them; but while Ragdoll got taken away to Arkham, Catwoman was able to elude The Batman and the police.

After stealing two cat statues, she gets captured by the Joker and Punch & Judy. Joker tells her that he plains on giving the Cat trophies to Killgore Steed. She is saved by Batman and Batgirl and follows the clown to Killgore's bas, where he plans on killing them with a maze. She escapes and beats Joker, but runs away at the end of the episode.

She and the Penguin are later captured by Rumor alongside other villains and planned to be executed, but she is later freed and escapes. She thanks Batman by calling him scary.
