Cecil is the affable leader of the Marabou clan and the secondary antagonist in the 2012 film Zambezia.
Biography[]
Long ago, Cecil and his Marabou clan were always isolated from Zambezia because they refuse to build the city with the Zambezians. As a result, they were forced to live as bandits.
He and his mute brother Sill were first seen chasing Gogo, a Saddle-Billed Stork who was carrying a weaver companion called Tini and some orphaned eggs ducklings heading all the way to Zambezia, the following day, they came after Gogo takes a rest at Kai’s nest. Sill was first to attack the protagonists, but failed by being stuck on a branch. Sill still fights off Tendai, Kai’s father, even he wanted to save him, this leads to Sill’s demise. After watching the death of his only brother, he blames that the raptors were being greedy to the Marabous and flew away. That night Cecil is mourning about the loss of his only brother, but his cousin Morton came in to comfort him. Then Budzo, a sinister Monitor Lizard came and gave them an advice, saying that they can share all the good things together if they attack Zambezia by working as a team, then Budzo kidnaps Tendai and locks him in a cage.
The Marabous later kidnap all the weavers at the Spring Celebration at Zambezia, Budzo later forces the kidnapped weavers to build him a bridge so that Budzo can get to Zambezia, The Marabous guarded the kidnapped birds and won’t let them get away during these times. He is not seen in the scene when Kai saves his dad and the weavers.
At the day when Budzo and the Marabous arrive to Zambezia, Budzo betrays Cecil and his clan and unleashes his lizard army.
He and his clan decide to team up with the Zambezians fighting the lizards by splitting the bridge into half, although they did not did it well. at the final fight with Budzo, he also came up aiding Gogo.
At the ceremony that night, he is proud of his cousin being a Hurricane, and in the carnival after the ceremony, he is seen telling stories to some ducklings.
