Celeste Dubois is one of the main antagonists of the first season of The Originals.
She was a witch member of the New Orleans Coven and one of Elijah Mikaelson's greatest loves. After she was killed due to Klaus, her spirit became an vengeful ancestor and she began possessing the body of several witches, with her last being Sabine Laurent.
Celeste was portrayed by Raney Branch in her original body, Shannon Kane as Sabine, and various cast members while possessing their characters' bodies

Origins[]
In the 1800s, Celeste was in love with Elijah Mikaelson, one of the original vampires. However, his brother Klaus sent rumors that the killings in New Orleans were a result of the witches seeking blood sacrifice for their rituals. So, she was drowned in her bathtun and her spirit began jumping into different bodies whenever she died, plotting a revenge for the next two centuries.
The Originals[]
In the 1900s, Celeste possessed the body of the nurse Clara Summerlin and befriended the witch Genevieve, but the two were eventually killed by Rebekah Mikaelson. Later, as Brynne Deveraux, Celeste created the crescent curse at the behest of Marcel Gerart and placed it on a pack of werewolves from New Orleans, allowing them to be in their human form only during the full moon. In late 2013, she began possessing the body of Sabine Laurent.

- Dark Magic: Celeste is known for being one of the most powerful sorcerers in The Originals. She has great knowledge about dark and forbidden magic and has a large arsenal of spells, curses and magical traps.
- Cursing: She was the one who created the crescent curse decades ago.
- Possession: Celeste can possess any living being, and use them as her hosts while also manifesting her supernatural powers through them.
- Ressurection: Another notable feat of hers was the protection spell she cast on herself, to ensure that should she die in her confrontation with Davina Claire, she would be brought back. When she jacked the Harvest ritual, she used its energy to resurrect 3 witches of her choice instead of the sacrificed girls.
- Spell Casting: Celeste knew how to cast spells without any incantations, like when she cast a spell to find Hayley Marshall and when she placed up a barrier around the New Orleans cemetery in less than a second with no chants.

- High-level intellect/Expert manipulator: As a high ranking witch with centuries of experience, Celeste has displayed great intelligence, and is an expert in manipulation, using her skills to force her opponents to make the exact choices she desired them to make.
