Cesar Sanchez is the main antagonist in the 1997 crime drama film 187. He is an arrogant school student who develops a huge vendetta on protagonist Trevor Garfield.
He was portrayed by actor Clifton Collins Jr, who also played Cesar Vialpando in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.
Biography[]
Cesar starts off as an arrogant student, who's been a member of Benny's gang called KOS (Kappin Off Suckers). He is introduced as an enemy towards the protagonist Trevor Garfield, who was traumatized by a brutal stabbing from his previous student Dennis Broadway at a school in New York years ago. Cesar orders Trevor to not disrespect Benny.
Cesar hangs out with Benny and Hector who confronts a man tagging on KOS turf in an abandoned water tunnel, Benny mysteriously disappears.
After Benny's disappearance, Cesar takes over as the leader of KOS and continues taunting Garfield during class. Garfield, growing tired of this behavior, pays a visit to Cesar's mother, who's being abused by her son. Cesar and his gang destroys Bungalow '86 in spite of Garfield. Cesar later gets his finger chopped off by an unknown suspect, which turned out to be Garfield.
Teachers have a meeting in a school hall about Benny's murder. Cesar's friend Stevie Littleton accuses Garfield for killing Benny and storms off before bodyguards arrive, failing to catch him.
Cesar plots his revenge to kill Garfield with a deadly game of Russian Roulette, who was inspired by the movie The Deer Hunter. Garfield took Cesar's turn and ultimately kills himself. Cesar becomes remorseful of his actions, knowing he's got nothing in his life takes his turn by killing himself as well. Stevie goes back into the house and he is shocked to see his dead body. Stevie leaves the house in defeat.
