Nicolas, better known as Chains, is a one of main playable characters in PAYDAY: The Heist and PAYDAY 2. He is one of the members of the Payday Gang.

He is voiced by Howard Thompson in PAYDAY: The Heist, and by Damion Poitier, who also portrayed Thanos in the post-credits scene of The Avengers, in PAYDAY 2.

History

As a teenager, he often got into trouble. The foster family could not support him and he found his home in the Marine Corps. He turned out to be an excellent marine, although his contempt for the authorities remains obvious.

He always seeks to test his limits and transcend death. He served in the Navy and Navy SEAL (Fur Seals). When he got there, his personality and insecurity strained them and they managed to expel him pretty quickly.

After that, he got into hired troops, offered his services at a high price. With his missions, he has already managed to visit all corners of this world.

Soon, most of his acquaintances were criminals who came and went to the hired troops, or committed robberies and kidnappings as a transition from hostilities, or vice versa. He is always looking for adrenaline, he quickly got used to a new lifestyle.

He uses the military jargon that he learned during his time in the army. As soon as he reached 35 years of age, our hero had already managed to deceive death many times and now considers himself invincible.

After the dissolution of the PAYDAY gang, the now financially secure Chains moved to Los Angeles and dreams of becoming a gunsmith and stuntman. He used his fortune to boost the stunt industry and practical effects, with the result that most of his films became blockbusters. Connected gang Gage joined Chains after some time, rising to his feet thanks to the gang (secret, good ending).

• He has 4 nicknames in the development, they were: Grizzly, Deadlift, Brick Wall, and Alcatraz.
• In the game's files, he was going to be Spanish/Chilean.
• One of the testers said that the name "Chains" was considered offensive because of it supposedly referring to US slavery; the designers did not intend for this to happen, as the reason why his name is Chains is because of his military background.
