Sheng-Ji Yang, or Chairman Yang, is the leader of the Human Hive.

He is one of several playable characters in Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri who qualifies as a villain due to his ruthless charismatic leadership and his willingness to destroy and conquer to advance his goals. He is the natural enemy of The Peacekeepers.

Personality

Yang is a highly charismatic leader- he is capable of manipulating his public image and has an uncanny understanding of the human psyche. His personality is slightly seclusive but highly ruthless. He shows no mercy to his opponents, and sees no wrong in attacking weaker factions for the benefit of his own.

He strongly believes in a Legalism, Collectivism (Police State ingame) and opposes Democratic factions such as the Peacekeepers. He is clearly highly intelligent, although his mental state is questionable. His behavior can at times be unpredictable but never irrational.

History

He was born on 0-9-1999 to a Chinese scholar. He commanded the security force for Great China before disappearing following the Crimson Succession.

He studied at Beijing in Psychology, which explains his knowledge and skill in manipulation, he also studied in Chinese history. Many years later, he became the Chief of Security for the United Nations Alpha Centauri mission. After the captain of the ship was murdered, Yang used his charisma to amass a group of followers before moving onto planet Chiron and founding the Human Hive.
