Chan Chuang is a major antagonist in the LEGO City Undercover video game. He is a crime boss and owner of a chop shop operating in LEGO City. During the events of the game, his criminal gang was infiltrated by a police officer Chase McCain in his search for Rex Fury.
He was voiced by Kerry Shale.
Biography[]
Chan Chuang had appeared in LEGO City not too long ago by the time Chase McCain first heard of him. Other than being a mafia leader, he owned a chop shop and a limo service run by his father, Old Qiang. He also started working with Vinnie Pappalardo, who in turn was working with Rex Fury. At one point, his henchmen stole a police truck along with its driver, Frank Honey, but both were recovered by Chase McCain. To continue his quest to capture Rex, Chase entered Chuang's gang and met him in person. Chan ordered him to steal a car from one of his rivals, which he did successfully. In the meantime, Chan fired his father for being "too familiar" with him, only to learn that someone entered his office and triggered the alarm there, making him send Chase there next to investigate.
Later Chan, oblivious to the fact that Chase had joined Pappalardo's gang and collected evidence of Chuang's crimes, leading to mass arrests of his henchmen, tasked the undercover cop with stealing a lunar rover from the space port, which McCain also succeeded in. Soon afterwards, Natalia Kowalski attempted to infiltrate his office a second time, only to be found, captured and tortured by being force-fed ice cream. Chase rescued her from Chan's scrapyard with the help of Studsky and Clutch, while Chan himself disappeared in the ensuing chaos. It's unknown what happened to him afterwards, but considering his criminal empire was almost certainly brought to an end with most of his henchmen arrested or in hiding, it's likely that Chan himself was arrested or forced into hiding or leaving LEGO City altogether.
Appearance[]
Chan Chuang has short, combed black hair, a mustache and a goatee. He is dressed in a black suit with red sleeves, with a white shirt and a red tie under it.
Personality[]
Chan's most infamous defining trait is his bad temper; no matter how hard he tries to keep his composure, literally any inconvenience can freak him out, which also leads him to firing his henchmen if they unnerve him in any way. He seems to be not above hurting women, as Natalia claims that his men force-fed her ice cream, which made her head hurt.

- Chan Chuang's gang is modeled after the triads, crime syndicates based in China, as well as Chinese diasporas all over the world.
