Chang Fung (Simplified Chinese:程锋/Traditional Chinese:程鋒, Chéng Fēng)was the Secondary antagonist in the 1993 Hong Kong Action Film Supercop 2.
He is played by Yu Rongguang.
Biography[]
Chang Fung is a Vietnam veteran who worked as a Chinese mainland security guard after his retirement. But in one operation, he struggled to help his ex-girlfriend Yang Cien-hua, also a police officer, and ended up with only a badge, which upset him so much that he came to Hong Kong to fight.
After meeting up with his comrade Ho Chu in Hong Kong, Chang joins Ho and his gang of robbers. He helped the team capture the central bank's security plans and provided cover as they retreated. When he succeeded, he and Ho met the robber's mastermind, Roger Davidson. They told Roger that the explosives expert Po was coming in two days and received Roger's prize money. Then they went back to the hideout and divided the money up among the team members.
Hong Kong Police Lee Kwong-ming and Kwok Shao-long and Yang work together, based on the stowaways to investigate the robber team's hideout. They quickly raided the hideout, causing Chang and others to flee immediately. On the way out, Chang was surprised by Yang's involvement. Still, he had to flee under special police fire.
The police raid resulted in the death of Chuen's brother, Chun, and Po was also arrested by the police. Angry Chuen wants revenge, but Chang stops him and mentions rescuing Po first. Then, dissatisfied with Roger's attempt to cancel the robbery plan, Chang and Ho personally approach Roger and warn him that he must proceed with the plan. Chang then goes on a long-lost date with Yang. However, Chang doesn't expect Chuen to come to Lee's apartment for revenge and kidnap Lee's sister May. To Free Chuen, Chang pretends to fight him and lets him go.
At the police station, Chang appears before Po, claiming to have helped Yang and Lee interrogate Po. In fact, he gave the Po cigarettes filled with gunpowder so that the Po could escape. Chuen, disguised as a doctor, created a fire alarm, while Po lit gunpowder to create a fire so that the police could escort him out. Chuen overpowered the police, including Kwok, and fled with Po. Chang soon became a suspect in the robbery. To investigate him, Yang went to Chang and Ho's "Company" and questioned Chang, but to no avail.
The bank robbers began to rob the central bank. Chang, Chuen and several others entered the bank disguised as escorts and soon took control. Meanwhile, Roger and Ho uses his security work at the bank to cut bank off from the police. Yang and Kwok called for backup and infiltrated the bank to investigate the robbers' movements. Chang panicked when he learned that the police had surrounded the bank, but Roger claimed that the ventilation system was connected to an underground maintenance tunnel from which they could escape. Yang and Kwok start a battle with the robbers and defeat Chuan.
Sensing Roger's distrust, Chang tells Ho to kill Roger's team after he succeeds in escaping. As expected, Roger kills Po after he plants a bomb for the underpass. When Roger tries to close the door to the bank vault to trap Chang and Ho, Ho tries to hold the door open to let Chang escape, but he is killed by the door. Chang catches up with Roger's maintenance truck and wrestles him.
Chang eventually shoots Roger and confronts Yang, who arrives. But, still breathing, Roger detonated a bomb in the tunnel, causing it to collapse and flood with water. This forced tunnel workers to close the gates, and Chang, Yang and Lee tried to escape before the gates closed. Chang, aware of the severity of his injuries, used his last breath to push Yang and Lee out of the sluice gate and drown himself.
