Chaos is the lead villain of the 2016 six-issue comic series, E.V.I.L. Heroes.

Biography[]

Chaos is the leader of the New Gods, a septet of energy-based alien overlords who travel to planets, possess seven of their inhabitants, murder most of the population, and subjugate the rest.

Chaos first appears with one of his followers, Olympus, after the latter (probably by accident) saves a mother and her son from being crushed by a falling piece of debris (presumably brought on by either Chaos or Olympus). However, Chaos and Olympus proceed to destroy more buildings and vaporize the mother and her son. The New Gods lay waste to the rest of the world before returning to their headquarters. Chaos gloats about their conquests and that people will worship them again like they used to. When asked by Olympus, Chaos states that they are done with destruction, but the death is only beginning.

Chaos oversees the construction of a statue of him and, unsatisfied with how progress is going, vaporizes a worker and admonishes the president for not going fast enough. A group of workers call Chaos out when he calls them "slaves," but Chaos simply fries them with heat vision. He then flies off, threatening everyone with the full power of his wrath unless his wishes are completed on time. At the New Gods' lair, Chaos tells his cohorts of how things have changed, and the humans are now resisting. Wanting to quash this, he smashes into the moon and sends chunks of it falling onto Earth, claiming many lives. He then threatens that any resistances will beget more deaths. However, the fragments that do not fall coelesce back into another object. Chaos and Olympus go to Mexico City and find that Zyana has unleashed a monstrous man.

A group of super soldiers called the Hellions manage to kill Night, but not before one of his underlings kills Erica. This prompts Chaos to decide to massacre all humans. Olympus calls him out on this, but Chaos simply tells him to mind his tongue, and to prove his point, destroys a statue with his eye beams, much to Zyana's visible amusement. Chaos and Zyana then send the wild man to massacre some hiders.

The wild man slaughters several people before being killed himself. Olympus, whose personality was subsumed by a man he possessed, becomes disillusioned by all the carnage and starts having flashbacks to the New Gods' previous exploits. While the Hellions kill Kali, Chaos learns of the Hellions' hiding place, so he goes to Zyana and tells her to bring the people to him. In Egypt, Anubis ambushes the Hellions while they are making a landing. Chaos then arrives and zaps the Hellions' plane, forcing them to make a landing, whereupon Chaos, Atlas, and Anubis attack them and the city. Kasper tries to enter Chaos' mind, but Chaos resists the attempts and kills him. He then grabs Derrick and starts flying with him in the sky.

Chaos grabs another Hellion and tries to force them to watch as a shark eats Beth. Fortunately, Beth is saved by Olympus, which so enrages Chaos, he commands Atlas to kill Olympus. Chaos sends Anubis to Zyana and orders her to take everyone to Mount Elbert. Earlier, he promised Beth's grandfather that Beth would be safe, and he claims that she will be as long as she pledges her allegiance to him, which greatly horrifies Beth. Chaos starts to strangle a soldier who tells him to go to hell. A woman tries to put a stop to this, but Chaos throws her off and into the path of Atlas, who kills her. The soldier Chaos was strangling goes to fight, but Chaos simply sends Atlas out after him. Fortunately, the soldier overpowers Atlas and kills him. However, Chaos and Anubis kill some more of the Hellions. The rest of the prisoners escaped during the battle, and Chaos tells Zyana to hunt them down, as he wants to make them suffer.

Zyana and Anubis locate the prisoners and, under Chaos' orders, try to kill all of them. Beth resists, so Zyana tries to kill her first, only to be stopped by Beth's grandfather, who then runs at her and pushes her right off a cliff, taking her with him. Olympus brings Derrick to his family and then kills Anubis. Derrick and Beth confront Chaos in his throne room to kill him, but Chaos simply mocks them and brutalizes them and Olympus before flying to the sky with Olympus. However, Olympus overpowers Chaos and sends him crashing back down to Earth. Despite his surprise at actually being hurt, Chaos quickly regains his composure and tells the Hellions to go find their families while he destroys the world. He blows a hole in the world and is just about to go inside it when Olympus grabs him and runs around the world several times until both of them are impaled on a steel beam.

However, this does not put a (permanent) stop to Chaos' reign of terror. Even after their physical forms are killed, the New Gods' energy forms live on, and the final page of the saga shows Chaos to have possessed a member of a bug-like alien race, while the rest are now worshipping him.

Appearance[]

Whoever Chaos possesses wears a black suit with arrows all over it. There is also a picture of a C.

Personality[]

Chaos is shown to be childish and petty. When he cannot get everyone to worship him, he resolves to simply destroy Earth. He is also a sadist, constantly enjoying the pain of his victions.

Trivia[]

  • Most of the New Gods are evil analogues to the Justice League, with Chaos being one to Superman.
