~ Mr. Doctor Eggman |
The Chaos Council are the main antagonists of the 2022-2024 Netflix CGI series Sonic Prime.
They are the villainous organization from an alternate reality where Sonic never existed. In said reality, they took total control over Green Hill Zone and transformed it into New Yoke City. It is where Sonic travels to after he accidentally breaks the Paradox Prism.
The group is led by 5 different counterparts of Dr. Eggman. Its agents are primarily robots that enforce the rules set by the leaders, the main agent of which being Rusty Rose, a cyborg version of Amy Rose.
In the English dub, Mr. Doctor Eggman and Dr. Done-it are voiced by Brian Drummond. Dr. Babble, Dr. Don't and Dr. Deep are voiced by Vincent Tong, who also voiced Namagem in Mega Man: Fully Charged, Jestro in Nexo Knights, one of the Changelings in My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and The Mandarin in Iron Man: Armored Adventures. In the Japanese dub, Mr. Doctor Eggman and Dr. Done-it are voiced by Kotaro Nakamura, who also currently voices the original Dr. Eggman, Dr. Deep is voiced by Yasuhiro Kikuchi, and Dr. Don't is voiced by Takuma Sasaki.
Members[]
Leaders[]
Mr. Doctor Eggman[]
Mr. Doctor Eggman is the leader of the Chaos Council. He is the most similar to Dr. Eggman from the original Sonic universe, except his mustache is straight and he wears a wig. He is one of the only three members of the council to have his own mech. According to the merchandising, he is somewhere in his 40s.
Dr. Babble[]
Dr. Babble is a baby, though he has just as much power in the council as the other members. He was the first foe that Sonic faces when he is brought to the New Yoke universe. He is also said to be the more sadistic and cruel one in the council, to the point where some members consider his action to be ''excessive''. His mech has characteristics of baby toys.
Dr. Don't[]
Dr. Don't is a teen boy and typical fits into the "emo" stereotype. This counterpart of Eggman is always depicted as being bored and disinterested in his current tasks, always focusing more on his video games. He is the technological genius behind the council’s technology and inventions. Instead of having a mech, he remote controls nearby robots.
Dr. Deep[]
Dr. Deep is very much modeled after a New Age spiritualist. Many of his gadgets, including his mech, are oriental themed. It seems that Mr. Doctor Eggman doesn't like him very much, since he tells Dr. Deep to "grow up". He is often shown to have a rivalry with Dr. Done-It (due to Dr. Done-It being very old). According to the merchandising, he is somewhere in his 20s.
Dr. Done It[]
Dr. Done It is easily the oldest member of the council. He is portrayed as senile, partially deaf old man, possessing white facial hair and a cane. In most of his appearances, he is depicted sleeping, snoring loudly as he dreams the days away. He is one of the only two members of the council without a mech.
Agents[]
Rusty Rose[]
Rusty Rose is the primary agent of the council, who is a robotic version of Amy Rose that is programmed to submit her masters' obedience. However, they don't show her any respect or care. And when they decide to leave her captive in No Place instead of rescue her, she chooses to betray the council. She is currently a member of Angel's Voyage crew and has sisterly bonded with her counterparts.
Chaos Sonic[]
Chaos Sonic is a robotic version of Sonic created to combat and defeat him. Chaos Sonic has all of Sonic's skills, drive, and ego, but lacks any of Sonic's redeeming qualities. He was seemingly destroyed when Tails Nine shot him with an excess of Paradox Prism energy. He was then used as a template for Tails Nine's own robotic army.
Biography[]
In an alternate reality where Sonic had never existed, Mr. Doctor Eggman (alongside his counterparts) had successfully taken over Green Hill and turned it into New Yoke City. While they did, they argued over who should rule the city, until they agreed with Dr. Babble’s idea to divide the city into five sectors, one for each of them.
The Eggmen successfully captured Sonic when he arrived in the Shatterverse, and before they could extract Sonic's powers, they were interrupted by the Resistance. They then retreated back to the security room, with Dr. Babble, Dr. Deep, and Mr. Doctor Eggman directly going after the heroes later on. After Sonic entered the crystal, the Eggmen successfully weakened the Resistance, and continued to fight them for a week.
After Sonic's return to New Yoke City, the Eggmen once again fought them. Learning about the existence of more shards and other Shatterspaces, they plotted to conquer the entirety of the Shatterverse. They successfully captured Tails Nine and sent Rusty Rose to go after Sonic in No Place. Tails also unintentionally gives them the idea to make a robot counterpart of Sonic using prism energy.
When they end up getting their hands on the shards from Boscage Maze and No Place, they use them to open permanent portals to both Shatterspaces from the citadel and attempt to terraform them to be exactly like New Yoke City, but the Shatterverse ends up destabilizing as a result of the portals. However, they lose the shards and follow Sonic and Tails Nine to Ghost Hill to get them back, only for Tails Nine to betray Sonic and take all the shards to the Grim.
With the Shatterverse facing destruction faster thanks to Tails Nine, the Chaos Council decides to make a truce with Sonic and his friends, but both the Chaos Council and the Resistance still plan to continue the war over New Yoke City once the decay is stopped. When the Paradox Prism gets restored by Sonic and a redeemed Tails Nine, the Eggmen betray the heroes to claim it for themselves, only to end up arguing with each other again. Tails Nine uses this moment to open a portal that all five Eggmen get forced into (except Dr. Don't, who goes through it willingly), leaving them stranded in the Void as Mr. Doctor Eggman swears revenge, thus ending their reign for good.

Trivia[]
- Their location, New Yoke City, is a cultural reference to New York City, and Yolk - the yellow part of an egg. A yoke can also refer to the leashing and controlling of cattle, fitting for their oppressive rule.
- Mr. Doctor Eggman's goggles and toupee resemble that of Dr. Eggman's live-action film counterpart. This may very well have also been intentional.
- The Chaos Council are very similar to Lord Eggman from the Sonic Boom continuity, since both are alternate versions of Dr. Eggman who rule over a city in a universe where Sonic doesn't exist.
- Dr. Done-It's mustache resembles that of Eggman Nega. He may have also been modeled after Professor Gerald Robotnik. His three big tufts sticking out of each side also somewhat resemble the ones of Dr. Eggman's classic design.
- While they seemingly are alternate counterparts of Dr. Eggman, how they actually exist all together in a same universe is unknown, since they weren't aware of the existence of other universes before learning it from Sonic.
- The most likely answer is that they were all created by the Paradox Prism and that they, for some reason, all appeared in the same universe.
- In season 3, "Dome Sweet Dome", Mr. Doctor Eggmann claims that Dr. Done-It is so blind that without gravity he couldn't even hit the ground with a shot. It is unknown whether this is true as, apart from this claim, there is no obvious indication during the series that Dr. Done-It has poor eyesight and the fact that he is a good pilot seems even to contradict this. In "No Way Out" there's a scene that's from Dr. Done-It's point of view, where it seems that he can see perfectly, although it's possibly that this is mainly due to his glasses.
- The Chaos Council turning Amy into a cyborg is very similar to the Sonic SATam series and the Archie Comics, both of which had Dr. Eggman turn organic beings into robots with a process called "Roboticization."
- Dr. Babble is widely considered the most hated member of the council due to fans finding his sadism and constant temper tantrums annoying.
- Each member of the Chaos Council represents one or two part of Dr. Eggman's personality:
- Dr. Babble represents his sadism and his insanity;
- Dr. Don't represents his distrust;
- Dr. Deep represents his immaturity and his eccentricities;
- Dr. Done-It represents his temperament but also his (low) voice of reason;
- Mr. Doctor Eggman represents his manipulative capability and his strategic side.
- Much like Dr. Eggman himself (most often), none of them are seen without wearing their dark eyewear, making the appearance of their eyes unknown.
