Chaos Sonic is a supporting antagonist in the Netflix series Sonic Prime.
He is a robotic copy of Sonic the Hedgehog built by the Chaos Council to defeat him. He also served as the inspiration for Tails Nine to create several robot copies of Sonic's friends, both as a means of defense from his enemies and as his trusted accomplices, having been betrayed by Sonic.
He was voiced by Deven Mack, who also voiced the original Sonic, Orbot, and Cubot in the same series, Vangelis in Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu, Chef Hatchet in Total Drama Island, Volk in Dragalia Lost, Grimserver in Dragamonz, and Pharos in the second sage of The Dragon Prince series.
Appearance[]
Chaos Sonic was a dark blue, spindly robot with long appendages, yellow accents on his body and red shoe-like feet. Having been modeled after Sonic the Hedgehog, he possessed faux quills and ears on his head, the rest of which was primarily composed of a glowing, cyan screen that displayed his red "eyes", letters, numbers, and symbols.

Due to being made to be like Sonic, Chaos Sonic possesses a lot of Sonic's personality traits. However, Chaos Sonic seems to only possess Sonic's more negative traits and, as such, comes off as arrogant, cocky and competitive. Because of this, he is very annoying to the point where even Sonic considers changing himself.
Chaos Sonic is also not above hurting Sonic's friends as he claimed that he is going to destroy them after he was finished with Sonic.
Biography[]
Chaos Sonic in pieces
In "A Madness to Their Methods", after Nine accidentally told Mr. Doctor Eggman that they will never be able to defeat Sonic since they don't think like him. After hearing this, Mr. Doctor Eggman decided to create a robot with the power of the Prism shards that would be able to think just like Sonic and defeat him. At the end of the episode, Chaos Sonic emerges from the door with Sonic mistaking him for the Nine before realizing who he actually is.
In the following episode, "Double Trouble", Chaos Sonic coming out and attacking the real Sonic. Chaos Sonic then introduced himself whilst teasing Sonic. While Knucks think that Nine set them up in another trap, Sonic disagreed.
Sonic fights his robot counterpart while Rebel Rouge and Knucks were fending off against some Eggforcers. Chaos Sonic then threw Sonic towards the city and Sonic landed inside a dumpster and Chaos Sonic told him his merchandising plan. Rebel told Knucks to help Sonic while she dealt with the Eggforcers. As Chaos Sonic kept talking, Knucks attacked him from above. As Knucks was down, Sonic thinks he can drain his battery with a race.
Sonic and Chaos Sonic were racing. And as they both fought off, Sonic decided to trick Chaos Sonic into getting hit by a bus and headed back to the Yoke. As Sonic head straight for the Yoke, Dread saw him and thinks that he can him to the blue Shard. As the doctors began Operation: Chaos Terraformation, Deep and Babble opened up portals to both No Place and the Boscage Maze, causing buildings to emerge. Meanwhile, Sonic, Rebels and Knucks finished off the remaining Eggforcers and after seeing some floating portals, they quickly went inside. However, Chaos Sonic recovered from being hit by a bus and caught up to Sonic.
While Chaos Sonic defeated Rebel and Knucks and Sonic tried to fend him off, Chaos Sonic was then hit by a coconut and Dread showed up and attacked him. Sonic was surprised to see he was alive, and Dread told Sonic that he owed him for saving him earlier, but this was a temporary alliance for the blue Shard. Sonic, Rebel and the two Knuckles Shatter Variants fought the robot off and ended off with both Knucks and Dread punching it at once. After that, Dread was surprised to see that Knucks looks like him.
Sonic then attempted to lure Chaos Sonic to him as the robot released himself from Rebel and the two Knuckles. As Chaos Sonic goes after Sonic, Knucks began to think that Sonic likes traps, which Dread agreed with as well, and Rebel thought that the moment she was in right now was "too weird". As Chaos Sonic chased after Sonic, Nine gave Sonic directions to the lab and blasted a beam of Shard Energy at the robot, breaking and destroying him completely. Sonic then hugged Nine, only to remember that he didn't like hugs. He then comforted Nine, who blamed himself for almost dooming Sonic, only for Sonic to say that he saved him, and that’s what friends are for, and then asked how they were gonna get the Shards outta here; then Nine had an idea upon seeing some boxes.
Dr. Babble, in his mech suit, found the remains of Chaos Sonic and showed it to the Council as Chaos Sonic's head utter one last quip saying he was the best before shutting down and dying.
Season three[]
During the third season, Chaos Sonic was succeeded by the Grim series of robots that Nine builds in his image, and particularly by Alpha Grim Sonic. His personality is not present in the Grim robots in any capacity..

Trivia[]
- He is based on Metal Sonic from the Sonic games.
- Unlike Metal's other incartations, Chaos Sonic has more expressiveness.
- Chaos Sonic's personality and performance was reportedly based off of early western portrayals of Sonic, which are particularly infamous amongst the Sonic fanbase for coming off as dated and the character trying too hard to look cool. This was confirmed by Deven Mack in a Twitter post.
- Deven Mack confirmed on Twitter that he channeled Jaleel White when creating the voice for Chaos Sonic.[1]
