Charles Upstart III is the main antagonist of the DuckTales episode "The Status Seekers".
He was the president of the Association of Status Seekers who wanted to beat Scrooge McDuck to the Mask of Kuthu-lulu to prevent him from taking his status from him.
He was voiced by Terry McGovern who also voiced Launchpad McQuack in the same franchise.
Biography[]
Charles first appeared when Scrooge arrived at the Association of Status Seekers, wanting to join. Charles just laughed at him and said that to join you needed to own something that every other snob in town wanted, but gave him a tour once he learned that Scrooge owned the hotel they were in. After he learned that Scrooge knew where to find the mask of Kuthu-lulu and would be the new president if he got it, he hired the Beagle Boys to help him steal it and try to kill Scrooge.
After numerous failed attempts at getting the mask, Charles and the boys tried to openly steal the mask while wearing masks of their own, but Charles accidentally revealed himself in front of all the others from the association, causing them to turn against him. He was later defeated by Scrooge and his family and was thrown out of the association.
