Charlie Pugliese is a former associate of Erin Lindsay who became a person of interest during one of their investigations. He was portrayed by Billy Wirth.

Biography[]

In the past, Charlie had taken Erin in when she was living on the streets and forced her to commit crimes in exchange for food and shelter. On October 12, 2002, he witnessed Annie kill her abusive partner, Ricky Sandoval. He also witnessed Erin help get rid of the body. Charlie didn't go to the cops about the murder. Erin had pleaded to Hank Voight to spare Charlie after he was investigated, which Voight did. However, only the condition that Charlie leaves Chicago. Charlie leaves but 6 months after that Annie found out she was pregnant with his child. Unfortunately, no one could reach Charlie to tell him that. during that time Charlie would be acquainted with Kevin Radner, a kingpin.

He makes his first appearance in My Way, where he goes to the 21st District. He tells Platt that he is an old friend of Erin Lindsay. Platt tells him to write his name and number, but Charlie does not write his last name. Before leaving he tells Platt to tell Erin that "It's been a while".

When Erin and Jay almost exit the district, they dump into Charlie. Erin is shocked to see him and tells Jay to leave. Charlie wants a hug from Erin her, which she does very reluctantly. He is surprised to see she is now a cop. He asks Erin to show him, her badge which she does. She tells Charlie that he is not meant to be in Chicago. Charlie just tells her that it had been long enough. He then asks her if she is on contact with Annie, Erin nods but she tells Charlie that she wants to talk to Annie first. Before leaving he tells Erin that he is proud of her for making it out, Erin thanks him for that.

In The Docks, Charlie meets Erin again in his car and they talk. He learns that Hank Voight is now her superior in the squad, something that doesn't surprise him because of how Voight was. Charlie then tells Erin to get Voight to leave him alone because of the sacrifices he made for Erin to be a cop. Erin then tells Charlie that he has a son named Travis and that Annie is the mother. Charlie is greatly shocked to learn that he has a son with Annie. Erin tells Charlie that she will set up a time and place for Charlie to meet them and exits the car.

Charlie arrives at a restaurant with a gift for Travis, a toy truck. However, Erin tells him that it is not a good present because Travis is 12. This leads to Charlie placing the toy truck at an empty chair seat. At the table, he meets his son Travis and is able to make good small talk. However, Charlie has a private conversation with Erin, asking her is she owes him. Erin knows what that means and tries to get her point across to him, but Charlie just asks her to answer the question. Erin says, yes and with that Charlie leaves.

In A Beautiful Friendship, Lindsay stops Charlie from hitting his ex, who is bleeding. She is angry and tells him to leave but he refuses. Charlie says he will tell everyone what Erin and Annie did to Ricky Sandoval, saying that he took the blame for them but unless they both pay him a considerably large amount of money, he will tell their secrets to everyone before leaving the house.

under Kevin Radner, Charlie then commits an armed robbery with several others on a demolition site with the assistance of a Copeland Briggs and his gang. They took out the cameras, stole 100 pounds of aluminized water gel and also killed a security guard. This case falls on the intelligence unit including Erin Lindsay.

Mouse, takes an undercover Jay and Adam to see if they can be recruited as bangers. However, Charlie is the one Mouse was taking them to. Charlie already knows that Jay is a cop which blows this undercover operation.

Lindsay goes to Charlie to give him the blueprints he wanted. Charlie then asks Erin to call in a shooter at the Hancock at midnight. Erin leaves but on the way, Charlie calls her his girl.

Charlie tries to commit a burglary at a jewelry market with several others for Radner, but Intelligence busts in and puts cuffs on him. After staring down Voight and Erin, he is slammed onto his car by Alvin Olinsky who opens the trunk to find the explosives. Charlie then decides to reveal the information of the murder of Ricky Sandoval. However, Voight tells Alvin to put him in the car, which he does. Charlie is taken to an interrogation room. Erin enters and talks to Charlie. She shames him for trying to throw Annie under bus because he knew how abusive Rick Sandoval was but Charlie blames Erin. Erin tells him that if he reveals what happened to Ricky Sandoval, she will say that she killed him to protect Annie and Travis. Charlie then gets made that Erin let Voight chase him out of town with nothing. Erin then reminds Charlie that she told Voight to let him go telling him that he should do something good with that chance. Erin gives him two choose. He could give up Radner and make a deal that could improve him or tell everyone about Ricky Sandoval's murder and Charlie would destroy both his and her life. Charlie decided to give Radner up telling Erin that Radner killed the guard. Radner was going to call him after the heist but now that he had need arrested Radner won't call him. He tells Erin that he heard someone say that Radner was at an old warehouse but does not really know where it is.

Ricky Sandoval - Killed by Annie in an unknown way which was witnessed by Charlie Pugliese and didn't call the police.

Unnamed male security gaurd - Shot in the head by Kevin Radner in a robbery that Charlie Pugliese was part of.
