Charna is a minor antagonist from Heroes of Might and Magic III. She was a female death knight, one of the commanders of the armies of Deyja.
Biography[]
Charna's past is almost completely unknown, it is certain that she was seduced by the powers of darkness and became a death knight. Although she had magical powers and was able to use necromancy, she could not be a necromancer, so she wanted to be as strong as possible in combat and strategy. She first appeared when she and a goblin leader, Gretchin, invaded a small valley in Gaia's Crest, which belonged to the elven kingdom of AvLee. A talented and strong elven cadet, the half-human, half-Vori elf Gelu, was sent against the invaders, who successfully defeated the death knight, but she and Gretchin managed to escape. She was not seen again until later, when she, along with other necromancers and death knights, wanted to help Sandro and the King of Dejya, Finneas Vilmar , take over the world and defeat their enemies. She took part in the attack of a smaller area that lay northeast of Erathia and southwest of Deyja. Besides her, the commanders of the undead were two more death knights, Clavius and Moander, and a necromancer, Nimbus. However, a counterattack was launched by the barbarians, led by Crag Hack and Yog. Deyja's armies lost, Charna was much stronger than before, but she also lost, but managed to retreat. She then disappears for a while. After Sandro's defeat, Charna did not appear for a while until later during the invasion of Erathia. The death knight was imprisoned, possibly by Erathia's forces, not far from the capital, Steadwick. The combined evil forces of Eofol and Nighon reached here as well, freed Charna, who helped them in the invasion, and imprisoned General Morgan Kendal in her prison, after the capture of Steadwick. After that, Charna was not seen, it is likely that she returned to Deyja. She survived the Reckoning, but no more serious roles came to her.

What is certain is that Charna was a cold, grim, stern and evil person. Similar to other villains like Xyron or Octavia, she almost always fought on the side of the forces of evil and didn't care who she had to follow or serve. It is likely that she was inherently evil, as she was always heartless and cold and she had no compassion for anyone or anythin, gbut at the same time she could not fulfill all her evil.
