DO NOT LISTEN TO YOUR CAPTORS PROCEED TO ANTARCTICA
~ The Crescent King ordering Chase to continue her mission.

C/H/A/S/E, nicknamed Chase, is a major antagonist in THE NIXONVERSE: A MONUMENT MYTHOS STORY, the second installment in THE MONUMENT MYTHOS franchise and its expansion, THE ABSOLUTE NIXONVERSE.

She was a loved movie star, but when given free will by her movie directors, she escaped the set and began wandering somewhere no one could predict. No matter how hard her directors tried, they could not bring her back. This poor choice leads to the destruction of Earth itself.

Description[]

Appearance[]

Chase is a humanoid robotic creature with a large radio dish for a head, claw-like hands, and tentacles for feet, which she uses for locomotion. These tentacles also represent a sort of dress-like look to give a more feminine design, likely intended by her creators. Chase is also referred to as a female by the narrator.

Throughout her appearances, Chase appears pitch-black. It is unknown if it is a result of the poor photographic quality, a stylistic effect or that she's lacking any sort of coloration.

Personality[]

Very little is known about Chase's personality, assuming she has any. Chase is known to be disobedient since she left the studio as soon as she gained sentience. Chase's primary occupation is to follow the directives of the individual who manipulates her. Chase does not seem to have any other goal aside from walking towards her intended destination (in Antarctica) and seemingly lacks any hobby. Despite her intimidating look, Chase isn't hostile in the slightest, though she's not collaborative either and will ignore anyone on her path. It is not known how Chase would react to any display of aggression since she was left alone and even cheered on during her journey.

It is unknown whether Chase knew about Earth's fate should she spelt VOID in the polar sky, or was completely under mind control and powerless to do anything about it. It is likely that Chase had free will but was convinced by the Crescent King since he seemed to care about her free will, and called her creators her "captors".

Biography[]

C/H/A/S/E, or just Chase, was originally created as a kaiju special effect for an unnamed monster movie blockbuster. It was decided by said blockbuster's producers to give her an actual artificial intelligence for an improvised scene, and to allow her to exhibit free will on screen. When the directors enabled her artificial intelligence, she immediately left the studio and proceeded south to an unknown location. As Chase was popular, many would celebrate her arrival and visits to the towns she would cross as she trekked south.

However, Chase's whereabouts worried the US government. Eli Tillon, part of the Interagency Working Group for Examining and Extinguishing Biomechanoid Weapons, was tasked by the US Department of Defense to create a video in an attempt to convince Chase to come back to the studio. The footage would contain an offer to give Chase a human body and be able to exist in human society after she'd complete the movie's filming, as well as the thousands of adoring fans wanting her to come back, and would be played on a loop in Chase's head. Eli mentions that it will not work, as Chase is "already adding stars to our sky", implying he knows their purpose.

In the meantime, another entity, all but confirmed to be the Crescent King, developed an interest in Chase. The Crescent King is a hostile entity responsible for several deadly phenomena, including the Houses in the Ocean phenomenon (where entities taking the form of houses began to appear around the world's oceans and harmed people). Now, the King has decided to up his plan, and sent another message to Chase, urging her to ignore her "captors" and proceed to Antarctica for a yet-to-be-revealed purpose. Chase decides to follow his message. Eventually arriving in Antarctica, the "stars" she puts in the sky spell out the word "VOID". Soon after, an extraterrestrial (presumably Lunarian) ship spots her message, updates Earth's status to VOID, and blows it up with a planet-destroying canon. Chase was presumably destroyed in the process.
