Biography[]
Early life[]
Chazz was born to Alfonso and Barbara Montolo as the youngest of three children, in a family deeply involved in a criminal enterprise. After his wife Rosemary died and and his eldest son Marco was murdered, Chazz abandoned his remaining child, Giuseppe, and started a criminal empire of his own that operated all across Europe. Chazz employed an adult Giuseppe as his personal assassin.
In 2015, Giuseppe was arrested in the U.S. by Derek Morgan of the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) after targeting his former clients, in search of the one who ordered the attempt on his life that left him disfigured. On November 10 of that same year, Giuseppe was killed at the orders of fellow hitman Zac Rubenis while in Morgan's presence. When Chazz found out about Giuseppe's death a week later, he staged his own death in a bank fire in Germany that killed five people, then traveled to the U.S. to stalk Morgan, who he held responsible for his son's death. Chazz ordered assassins Edgar Solomon and John Bradley to kidnap and torture Morgan to death, but Morgan managed to escape and kill his would-be murderers.
"A Beautiful Disaster"[]
Montolo orders one of his assassins to shoot Morgan's pregnant wife, Savannah, right in front of him in order to inflict upon him the pain of losing a loved one. While Savannah is in surgery, Montolo infiltrates the hospital disguised as a homeless man and makes a phone call from a hospital payphone to Penelope Garcia, the BAU's technical analyst and Morgan's best friend, and taunts her that the BAU will never catch him.
Montolo then breaks into Morgan's house, having earlier planted surveillance cameras in it without Morgan's knowledge, and takes him prisoner. He tells Morgan that he has an accomplice who is watching Savannah and Garcia and will kill them at his order. He then accuses Morgan of killing Giuseppe, only for Morgan to reveal that Giuseppe was actually murdered by his own clients. Montolo refuses to listen, however, and starts playing Russian Roulette with Morgan, while giving him a cell phone and telling him to call his BAU colleagues and say goodbye. Morgan realizes that Montolo does not know that the house does not have a landline, and therefore he does not really have an accomplice.
Morgan knocks the revolver out of Montolo's hand and produces his own weapon, leaving Montolo at his mercy. Morgan tells him that his only choices are death or prison, but Montolo taunts him that he does not have it in him to kill an unarmed man. When Morgan hesitates, Montolo screams at him to pull at the trigger. At that moment, however, the rest of the BAU arrives and arrests Montolo, who is then imprisoned for life.
