The Baby Zombie and the Chicken, collectively known as the Chicken Jockey, are minor antagonists in the 2025 fantasy action-adventure film A Minecraft Movie, based on Mojang Studios' Minecraft franchise.
They are a tag team fighting duo that are associated with the Illagers in the Woodland Mansion and fight Garrett Garrison and Steve after the two are restrained.
Appearance[]
Like their video game counterparts, the Chicken Jockey is a baby zombie riding a chicken, with both mobs being given a more upgraded realistic design. The Baby Zombie now has black eyes, short hair, a visible set of teeth, and fingers.

The Baby Zombie tries to portray himself to be an innocent and childish mob, but it is a mask for his true personality where he is an aggressive and ruthless fighter when engaged in combat. With his cunningness, he is able to trick Garrett Garrison by crying so that he can unleash a hidden attack on him despite Steve's warnings. However, he still acts like an actual child in the end as he genuinely cries after being defeated by being knocked out of the ring.
The Chicken acts as a feral animal where it is an accomplice to the baby zombie when fighting, even holding a bond between each other. Unlike its game counterpart, the chicken also exhibits signs of aggression and hostility just like the baby zombie where it defends him when separated, and even attacks Garrett by itself.
Biography[]
After Garrett and Steve are caught by the Illagers while distracting them inside the Woodland Mansion, the mobs subject them to fight by taking the two men into their arena. Garrett scoffs at the fact when he finds out his opponent is a literal chicken, but soon a crate deploys a baby zombie onto the animal. The duo prove to be a challenge to Garrett as they freely thrash him, but the latter puts up his own against them and separates the two. The baby zombie then starts to cry on the floor and Garrett sympathetically approaches him while Steve warns not to fall for that empathy. This allows the baby zombie to bite Garrett's hand as the brawl continues. Eventually, Steve unties the ropes wrapped around his hands and finishes off the baby zombie by headbutting him out of the arena. This causes the baby zombie to pitifully and genuinely cry in defeat as the two stand victorious

- The Chicken Jockey's scene became subject to an infamous internet trend. During the movie's theatrical run, audience members would cheer, shout the Chicken Jockey's name simultaneously with Steve, and throw their food or drinks and bring live chickens into the theatre while disrupting the entire theater. It is to the point that this trend was forbidden and that numerous theaters showing the movie issued warnings to violators to not follow this trend's behavior. Otherwise they will receive punishment by having the movie pause midway through, be kicked out and/or blacklisted from the theater that this behavior occurred at, or in more extreme cases, have law enforcement contacted to restrain the disruptive violator.
