Chief Jo is the overarching antagonist of the 2023 noir action film Ballerina. He is the boss of Choi Pro that oversees the drug and human trafficking operations that occur throughout the movie.
He is portrayed by Kim Mu-yeol.
Biography[]
After Choi Pro is beaten by Ok-ju, he is confronted by Chief Jo, who goes on to mock Pro for losing considering he was seemingly the best fighter the gang had. He also accuses of Pro of stepping outside the tradition of the gang and doing too much, despite the hypocrisy of Jo running the drug and human trafficking organization. Regardless, Jo orders Pro to find and kill Ok-ju within three days.
Pro returns, claiming to have successfully killed Ok-ju, despite this not being true, as Jo will later learn when Ok-ju returns and barges into their base. Ok-ju smirks and pours Ok-ju a drink, offering her a chance to talk things out since he has no personal quarrel with her. She instead chooses to shoot him in the head, killing him instantly.

- Chief Jo's name is only revealed in the credits of the film. He is only called "Sir" by other mobsters, and "Man" in the subtitles.
