Chief Patsy Stamos is the main antagonist of Season One of Grimsburg. She is the Chief of the Grimsburg police department. She is voiced by Wendi McLendon-Covey.

Personality[]

For most of the series, Chief Stamos presents herself as a strong and capable leader—strict but fair enough to give Flute another chance after firing him. While she generally upholds the priorities of the Grimsburg Police Department, she also indulges her own interests, as seen when she hires detectives based solely on their looks. Her strained relationship with her son suggests that she values her career over her personal life.

Once revealed as the main antagonist, however, Patsy drops the act entirely. She devises a plan to bomb the casino, intending to kill everyone inside and profit over a million dollars in gravestone engravings (as Wynona points out). Her complete lack of remorse and disregard for human life confirm her as a truly villainous figure.

Biography[]

Chief Patsy Stamos serves as the head of the Grimsburg Police Department. In the pilot episode, she is shown firing Detective Martin Flute. In his absence, she hires an alcoholic alley cat as a deputy, a decision she later regrets. Realizing her mistake, she brings Flute back to help solve a murder case.

Patsy has a son, Stewart Stamos, who recently passed the detective exam and works under her at the department. Despite his qualifications, she assigns him the role of secretary, much to his frustration. Living in his mother’s shadow, Stewart is desperate to become a detective—so much so that he frames her for murder to secure the position. His ambition reaches the point where he even holds her at gunpoint. However, when he is ultimately revealed as the real culprit and arrested, Patsy shows no emotional reaction or concern for him in later episodes.

At some point in her career, Patsy was removed from detective duty. This becomes apparent when she attempts to go undercover at a wedding with Flute and struggles due to her nervousness. However, she manages to maintain her cover long enough to catch the Bouquet Killer with the squad’s help.

For most of the series, Patsy appears to be a steady and authoritative leader. However, in the Season 1 finale, The Danish Dilemma, her true nature is exposed. When Flute is institutionalized at the Grimsburg Institute for the Criminally Insane, Stewart reveals that Patsy has secretly orchestrated everything throughout the series. Flute learns that “Grimsburg” is actually a television show and that every solved case increases Patsy’s profits. However, Flute’s growing success threatened her, leading her to have him locked away.

After escaping, Flute and the team track Patsy to a casino, only to discover she has rigged it to explode, intending to kill everyone inside. When Flute and Summers confront her on the rooftop, she reveals her ownership of Grimsburg Cybernetics, which allows her to control Summers. She commands him to eliminate Flute while she makes her escape in a helicopter. However, Flute appeals to Summers’ emotions, breaking through his programming. Regaining control of himself, Summers uses a grabber-arm attachment to pull Patsy from the helicopter and bring her back to the rooftop. Although the casino is destroyed, the detectives manage to evacuate everyone safely, preventing any casualties.
