Chikako Ikeda was the main antagonist of the Detective Conan/Case Closed two-part episode "Mountain Villa Bandaged Man Murder Case". She was known to be a famous screenwriter, whose script became a film, but a horrible secret posthumously exposed her as what she really was.

She was voiced by Jun Karasawa.

Biography[]

She made her first appearance at the Suzuki's mountain villa in Gunma Prefecture for the weekend, where she's not only revealed to be an old college friend of Ayako Suzuki but also a famous screenwriter who wrote the script for a film called "The Blue Kingdom", which is still playing in cinemas. However, when Ayako mentions their old friend Atsuko Tokumoto, everyone is shocked and Chikako slammed her hand on the table and demanded Ayako not to talk about her, which surprised the others as she calmed down a bit and told them that since she's a busy person, she had to take some time out of her schedule to be here and asked Ayako to not mention their dead friend. She then decides to go for a walk outside, with Hiroki Sumiya offering to go with her, since it was going to rain soon.

Later Chikako and Hiroki returned back inside after learning that Ran was nearly attacked by the strange, bandaged man in a dark cloak that Ran and Conan encountered when they arrived on the bridge. Upon learning that, they discovered that the phone line is down and the bridge has been cut. Chikako believes that the bandaged man is trying to scare them, thus giving in Ryoichi Takahashi's paranoia, which resulted in her walking back in the villa. As she was about to go to her room, Chikako noticed a mysterious note under her doorstep, which shocked her as Ayako wondered what the note was, which caused Chikako to go to bed, asking Ayako not to call her for dinner.

Later that night, as Ran, Sonoko and the others are about to eat dinner (with Hiroki recording them on his camera), they saw a quick shot of Chikako being carried off by the Bandaged Man, which led to Conan and the other guys (the girls stayed behind) look for them. To make matters worse, they discovered a dismembered arm and leg of Chikako, followed by her body, which also showed that she was decapitated and the strange, bandaged man is still out there, waiting to get his next victim.

Conan then noticed a couple of things that didn't make scene, such as the fact that when they found Chikako's leg, she had her shoes on, which wouldn't make sense since if she was kidnapped in her room by the bandaged man, she would have been barefoot since she would be in bed, and the second is that her choker was find near the front door by Ayako, while she was taken away she still had it. The girls stayed in the house as the guys looked for the bandaged man, as he went to the backyard.

After finding Chikako's slippers in the backside of the house, Conan (using Sonoko, but by accident as he was trying to knock out Ran with his tranquilizer needle) then revealed that the bandaged man was actually Ryoichi Takahashi and that he killed Chikako by having her meet him in the back, even revealing that the Bandaged Man was a puppet he made and that what they saw was just Chikako's head and nothing else. As Takahashi continued to deny the claim of being the Bandaged Man, Conan revealed one evidence that Takahashi couldn't hide; the fact that he wasn't truly fat, as he used a padding as well as baggy clothes to give the illusion of being fat. After killing Chikako by chopping her head off, followed by dismembering her corpse and leaving it in the woods, he removed the padding and replaced it with her head to continue looking fat. After having been uncovered, Takahashi finally revealed his motive for why he killed Chikako (revealing her as the episode's villain).

Back in college, Atsuko Tokumoto, who was a friend of Ayako, Takahashi and the others, was an inspiring screenwriter and revealed to Takahashi a script for a story she wrote, hoping that it would help her become a novelist. However, Takahashi and the others learned that Atsuko committed suicide shortly after, but no-one didn't know why, until Takahashi watched "The Blue Kingdom" and realized that the movie was actually Atsuko's script for her story called "The Sky-colored Land" and that Chikako stole it, which got her to win a few awards, become a famous screenwriter and have it made into a movie, which led Atsuko to kill herself, after phoning Takahashi and telling him she'd have never trusted anyone. Afterward Takahashi revealed that the note he left said that he'd have told the truth unless she met him and, when she did, he chopped her head off.

After the confession, he opened his baggy sweater and shirt, which dropped his bandaged man's costume and a knife and planned to kill himself, in hopes of joining Atsuko in the afterlife and giving her the message of having finally killed Chikako, thus avenging her. However, Conan told Takahashi that if he wants to kill himself, he should because even though he only committed this crime to avenge Atsuko, he pointed out that he also tried to kill Ran because, when she was trying to find her room, she accidentally saw Takahashi without his shirt, revealing he wasn't fat. However she was so embarrassed that she didn't notice, but Takahashi had to kill her before she could have recalled it and throw his entire plan off, causing him to realize that he tried to kill an innocent person just to avenge a friend.
