The Children of the Vault are the main antagonist faction in Borderlands 3. Also known as the COV, the endless bandit hordes of Pandora would be united under the Calypso Twins, turning them into a fanatical cult of insane zealots who worship them as the Twin Gods. While the bandits on themselves never posed too much of a threat to the rest of Pandora, Tyreen brainwashed and recruited them to turn into the most dangerous threat Pandora had ever seen, following their self proclaimed gods on their bloodsoaked crusade to ascend to godhood.

History[]

Originally the countless bandit tribes and factions on Pandora were in a never ending war with one another, with alliances hardly, if ever, being made between any of them. They all simply fought for themselves, and while some groups would rise to greater heights and power than others, they would always get taken out before they could become too much of a problem by the Vault Hunters and later the Crimson Raiders.

This would all change with the arrival of the Calypso Twins, Tyreen and Troy. Using their Siren powers to capture the easily manipulated minds of the bandits, the twins would go on to bring the bandit legions under their control under a single banner; The Children of the Vault. Now more dangerous than ever before, the COV threatened to bring ruin not only to Pandora, but the planets beyond. Utterly mindless and unflinching in their devotion to their Twin Gods, the Calypsos brought out the worst in the bandits while simultaneously putting their madness and chaos to their own use.
