The Chiller is a minor antagonist of Sonic the Comic comic book series. A scientist whose ideas were rejected by the society, he turned to villainy in an attempt to get revenge.
Biography[]
The Chiller had developed weather control technology, but the residents of the Pleasant Zone deemed it to dangerous and rejected his ambitions. Taking it as an offense, the Chiller took revenge by freezing the Zone and its inhabitants solid with his Chill-machine. When the Freedom Fighters came to investigate, one of his Chill-bot froze Johnny Lightfoot, but was defeated. The heroes eventually found the Chiller's hideout, with three more Chill-bots inside. These free proved stronger and froze Porker and Tails, and trapped Sonic in one place. While Chiller was explaining his motivation and abilities to Sonic, he broke free and returned the Zone to normal, cutting off the villain's escape. Sonic decided that locking Chiller up would be a waste of such a great mind, and instead convinced him to try and do good from that point on. Realizing that he wasn't good at villainy, Chiller agreed, rebuilding his last Chill-bot into a Mop-bot and using it to help residents of the Pleasant Zone.
Trivia[]
- Chiller is one of the very few humans aside from Robotnik to live on Mobius, with no explanation as to how he ended up on the planet.
- The Chiller is similar in concept to another Sonic the Comic villains, Windy Wallis, as both used their weather control technology against Mobius over a grudge with some of its residents.
