Choji Tomiyama is the first antagonist of the Wind Breaker series. He is the Leader of the Shishitoren. Before losing to Umemiya and seeing the error of his ways, Choji was a ruthless and cold-hearted leader, attacking his members and stripping them of their membership if they lose a fight, considering them weak if they lose.
Physical Appearance[]
Choji is a short teenager, at 5 foot 2 inches. He has scruffy light brown hair and brown eyes. He wears the Shishitoren jacket which is an orange varsity jacket with the gang's logo on the back and two lion symbols on the chest. He wears a white shirt under the jacket, black jeans and sneakers. He constantly has a grin on his face. After deciding to change Shishitoren, the life in Choji's eyes disappeared, looking almost soulless.
Personality[]
Choji is brash and quite reckless. Constantly picking fights with other delinquents that he believes are strong. He is also childish, acting like a spoiled brat whenever he doesn't get what he wants. Choji believes that if you lose, you are weak, and if you are weak, you don't belong in Shishitoren. He wants to be the freest person, and he believes that by being strong is the way to be free.
Biography[]
Past[]
In the past, Choji was a friendly person, nothing like his current self. He was kind enough to beat up the Zinc gang because they bullied one of his fellow members. He was the reason that Jo Togame became a member of Shishitoren, and Togame himself said that with Choji, he can enter the social circle and become friends with the other members. After he became leader however, he realized that it wasn't as fun because his members were not as strong as him and he got bored because no one could challenge him. Because of this, Choji created a rule in Shishitoren: if you lose, you're out. But Togame didn't want his friend to fall to darkness, so he took on the role of eliminating any members that are weak or lose fights. Choji decided to agree to Togame's request, keeping his friendly attitude while Togame handles the dirty work.
Shishitoren Arc[]
When Choji heard from his Second-in-command, Jo Togame, that Bofurin crossed the borders of their territory and attacked a member of their gang, he immediately ran off to challenge Bofurin's leader, Hajime Umemiya. When he arrived at Furin High, he attacked a few members of Bofurin and announced his arrival by using a megaphone and calling out Umemiya. Choji then challenged Umemiya to a one-on-one fight, even going so far as to kick Umemiya in the face so that the latter would agree to his challenge. When he realized that everyone in Bofurin and Shishitoren were involved, he decided to hold a tournament between 5 members of Shishitoren and 5 members of Bofurin, with him going up against Umemiya. When Bofurin arrived at Shishitoren's base, Choji immediately wanted his fight with Umemiya to start but was stopped by Togame, saying that the fight between the leaders should be saved for last. Choji sits back and enjoys the fights between members of Shishitoren and Bofurin, waiting eagerly for his turn. During the fights, two of his members lost and he immediately stripped them of their membership. After he lost his fight to Hajime Umemiya however, Choji realized the error of his ways. He apologized to his members and promised to turn over a new leaf and lead Shishitoren the way it should be with his Second-in-command, Jo Togame, by his side.
Skills and Abilities[]
- Fighting Prowess: Choji is the strongest fighter in Shishitoren. He is the most skilled in physical combat and even managed to overwhelm Hajime Umemiya who is the strongest fighter in Furin. Choji's skill is unmatched by anyone in Shishitoren. He was able to take down the entire Zinc gang with only Jo Togame by his side. Jo himself said that his skills are nothing compared to Choji.
- Speed: Choji is a fast-paced fighter, using his speed to overwhelm his opponents. Due to his small stature, he uses his speed to avoid his opponents attacks and counter with his own.
- Strength: Despite his small stature, Choji is quite strong physically.
- Authority: As the leader of Shishitoren, Choji has authority over his members. He can order them to do anything he pleases, even as far as to attack their fellow members.
- Intimidation: Choji uses intimidation to get his members to obey him. One stare and his members shiver. Everyone in Shishitoren is afraid of Choji, and he uses this to get them to make them submit to his rule.
- Leadership: Despite his harshness and cruelty, Choji is a good leader. After he heard that Bofurin invaded their turf and attacked his members, he immediately went over to Furin to get payback.
