Choze is a minor antagonist in the anime and manga series One-Punch Man. He was one of the competitors for the Super Fight Tournament in C-City. However, when the competition is interrupted by monsters of the Monster Association, including Gouketsu, a former fellow participant, he agreed to eat a monster cell, turning him into one of them and joining the Monster Association.
He was voiced by Kentarou Tone in Japanese and by Doug Erholtz in English. The latter also provided the voice of Bonolenov Ndongo from Hunter x Hunter (2011).
Appearance[]
Choze was a tall pale man of muscular build. He lacked eyebrows and had large wide azure eyes with black borders and grey hair parted on his left. During his appearance, he was seen in a red turtleneck with tiled patterns, a pair of dark gloves, and white-colored pants.
Upon consuming a monster cell, replacing his upper cloth, Choze's most noticeable change was the full reddish body he gained that matched his red turtleneck with his head, which also grew a pair of long horns. His torso is a lot more muscular than before and has symmetrical dark lighting as well as for his neck to around his neck. His shoulders were covered with enormous red spikes. His hand and upper arms kept the color of his black gloves as spiky features grew.
Personality[]
Choze is a power-hungry and highly conceited individual, finding pleasure in tormenting his targets. His sadistic tendencies are evident as he takes enjoyment from the suffering of his opponents, considering their screams and tears as mere sources of amusement. Beyond necessity, Choze displays a penchant for killing, using it as a means to test his own power. A stark example of his cruelty is the ruthless act of snapping Rosie's neck, carried out solely to assess the effectiveness of Monster Cells on Rosie's body.
Choze's personality is characterized by darkness and moral reprehensibility, highlighting his malicious enjoyment of violence and his willingness to inflict harm without remorse.
Powers and Abilities[]
Aware of his outstanding abilities as a lethal martial artist, Choze could easily overpower average contestants in the tournament, including Mentai and Dave, as well as coming out intact without injuries. However, his abilities naturally could not stand a chance against Saitama, another constant who overpowered him with a single casual punch. Prior to his monsterization, his abilities increased by a lot, but was still not enough for him to defeat Suiryu.
