Chris is a major antagonist in Lupin III: Farewell to Nostradamus.
Biography[]
Chris makes his debut riding a helicopter over the ocean prior to a massive explosion in it, destroying a submarine in the process. Later, during a parade, Chris was reading a newspaper before heading off to set a bomb's timer off early when the people holding a plane ransom brought it aboard. However, everyone on board managed to get off before it explodes. Following this, Chris chases Fujiko Mine and a girl she is with down and he manages to kidnap the girl who turns out to have been Julia.
He later impersonates the kidnapped Julia to to try and make her father drop out of the election in the control room. When a guard spots him, one of Chris's underlings knocks him out with sleeping gas before retreating. Fujiko soon spots him and his henchman in the middle of his escape. She soon is soon confronted by Chris in the parking lot while she was hunting Julia down, having realised that Fujiko was more than just a tutor to her. Fujiko insists she is not friendly enough to give secrets to people like him after one of Chris's underlings walks up behind her. Chris then incapacitates her and takes her hostage. This leads to Lupin and Jigen chasing down Chris in a car when they pick up Goemon who reveals that the Nostradamus Sect's book was fake, leading to Lupin seeking the real book to expose the Sect as a fraud.
After Lupin meets Uncle Philip at Execution Island, Chris shows up dressing up as a guard after incapacitating another and catches Uncle Phillip putting something inside a capsule an swallowing it. Chris has Philip carried off and strapped to a bed where he has some sort of device attached to his head causing him pain as the device is used to locate the vault in a monitor it is connected to. Chris had the power increased when he and is cohorts were close, leading to Phillip's death. After Phillip dies, Chris orders one of his men to extract the capsule he swallowed. Just then, Lupin crashes in via a construction vehicle and recovers Phillip's body.
When Zenigata crosses paths with Lupin, Chris and his lackeys fire bullets at them, forcing Zenigata and Lupin to escape with Philip's body into a hole. Chris knows full well they could try to get out, which turns out to be a river leading out into the ocean. Lupin allows Phillip's body to sink out into the ocean and when he and Zenigata resurface, they find the body of a prisoner Lupin teamed up with. When Goemon and Jigen come to pick Lupin and Zenigata up, Chris pursues them via speed and launches a bazooka rocket at the helicopter. While the captor survives, Jigen insists that they go know before they die as Chris fires a machine gun at them, leading to Lupin falling into the ocean.
Lupin however survived by clinging on the underside of a shark. Goemon and Jigen later find a photo of Chris in the hands of a merchant. The duo later keeps watch on Chris and his men as his former foreign legion is about to stock up on weapons. Just then they witness Chris and his men pick up plastic explosives and find themselves in a gunfight with Jigen nearly claiming Chris's life before a grenade stops this attempt, leading to Chris escaping.
Chris soon confronts Lupin in his cell, calling him a guy no one likes and realises he is also after the lost book and asks if Phillip told him anything. Lupin realizes that the book was the reason Chris kidnapped Julia and wants something bigger before leaving. He then talks with Rhisely during a meal about Julia's father not conceding with demands. Rhisely suggests another option to Chris which the latter considers their last resort. When Rhisely stated those who oppose them will face ruin in the face of the final moon, Chris was against this as he wanted to dominate the world's wealth and power. When Chris says that they are the ones who were ruined, Rhisely calls it uncharismatic to let his faith waver and they no longer need Julia alive. Chris then leaves with a smirk on his face.
When Lupin comes to save Fujiko and Julia, Chris orders a manhunt for Julia, Fujiko, and Lupin. When Lupin tries to paddle away with the help of Sergeo, the boat starts to leak and Chris pursues them via a motor boat. However, they've managed to hide for a while before fleeing. After Sergeo and Lupin down a helicopter that was pursing them, they get pursued by Chris again, who kidnaps Julia again in the process. Prior to the next soccer game which was to be for Julia's birthday, Chris watches with interest as the Brazil players who have had the same devices on them that brainwashed Fujiko earlier after she was caught.
Later that night, Chris activates the mind control devices to brainwash the players to smuggle soccer balls throughout the Earth Building. However, Goemon cuts off the mind control devices and finds that the soccer balls smuggled throughout contained bombs set to go off at 3PM. Zenigata sneaks into a suitcase prior to Chris taking off in his helicopter, it is here that Zenigata finds that Julia was in the case. When Chris flies in front of a metallic face on the tower, announces his wish to be Rhisely's successor a little sooner as if he kept running his destructive ways, he will make the pile of treasure a complete waste. Rhisely furiously cries that Chris will not get away with it. But Chris said he can blow it down at a time he picked, even risking Rhisely's reputation. Chris takes Julia out of the case and focuses her eyes to the heliport. He has her focus on the face's eyes to open its mouth, revealing the helipad. Chris heads with with a kidnapped Julia and one of his men with the rest staying behind and shooting down a copter.
Chris and his henchman take Julia via an elevator and enter an area of blinding light where he has Julia put in front to reveal what was in the vault a gold colored machine and has his henchman stand guard while he and Julia put on some headsets. This leads to a door opening in the machine and he finds himself falling down a shaft. It turns out this was a virtual reality game and Chris was still alive after his seeming fall. Rhisely tries to retaliate against Chris on his betrayal, but forgets that bullets do not work within the virtual reality machine. Chris finds himself burning in the machine and triggering the bombs via his watch, leading to damage to the building.
When the VR machine shuts down, Chris gets free and punches Lupin and sends Julia falling, the bombs also cause the face to fall from the building and crash down onto the evacuating crowd. Just then, Chris fights Lupin in hand to hand combat and comes close to killing Lupin when the latter kicks him away into the path of falling rubble and saves Julia from her fall and parachuting to safety while Chris is crushed to death. However, part of the tower still falls off and crashes into a nearby body of water, leading to damage outside the tower.
