Christian Baty

Christian Baty is the main antagonist of S.W.A.T. episode "Hoax". He was a white supremacist who planned to set off bombs to kill many people in Los Angeles. He was a part of a group called the Ultimate Patriots and other online hate groups.

He is portrayed by Darri Ingolfsson, who also played Oliver Saxon in Dexter, and Jerry Tidwell in Criminal Minds.

Biography[]

Christian Baty joined an online group and met with other white supremacists. He conspired with multiple white supremacists in a group known as the Ultimate Patriots. He felt that America was not in his vision and wanted to terrorize communities he was against.

The LAPD S.W.A.T. received a false report about Baty where the report stated that he planned to kill his girlfriend and child. However, the report was false and a terrified and angry Baty told the S.W.A.T. that he did not have a girlfriend or child. Despite receiving a false report, S.W.A.T. noticed he had many equipment and tools that was enough to build a powerful bomb. S.W.A.T. arrested him not because of the false call but because he of what they found his home.

When he was brought to the precinct, FBI Agent Gines confronts Baty about his plans. Baty started a conversation with Hondo and attempted to taunt him with a racist remark until he was escorted away. S.W.A.T. found out that FBI Agent Gines fabricated the phone call to get S.W.A.T. to know about Baty since he has been looking into him. Realizing that searching Baty's property was illegal, and that S.W.A.T. would be caught up in an illegal search and seizure, they decided to release Baty from their custody. Despite releasing him, the planned on keeping a close eye on his activity.

Baty meets up with Connor Glenski at a predominantly black neighborhood as they discussed their plans. Baty and Glenski both realized that a man has been taking pictures of them and that they are being watched. S.W.A.T. chased after Glenski when he ran from them which culminated in Glenski accidentally setting off the bomb in his bag killing him. At the same time, Baty escaped from S.W.A.T..

Baty is later seen at the Micheaux Park Community Celebration 2018 outdoor event with his other conspirators. When S.W.A.T. realizes that he was there, Baty and his men set off some bombs in a couple trash cans. While people are being escorted out of the park, S.W.A.T. was unintentionally escorting the civilians to a big truck. Hondo realized that a massive bomb was in the truck and told the police to not send the crowd towards the truck. Baty attempted to set off the bomb in the truck until Hondo shot him in the shoulder. As Baty's conspirators were all getting detained and arrested by S.W.A.T., Baty managed to sneak onto the truck and drive off.

Baty drove throughout Los Angeles. He recklessly hit vehicles and almost hit other vehicles as he was driving to his next destination. While he was driving the truck, Baty was being pursued by LAPD via patrol units and a helicopter. He drove the truck into a farmer's market parking lot with the intent on crashing the truck into the building and killing multiple people inside. However, as he attempted to drive the vehicle into the building, Hondo and Street in their armored vehicle drove their vehicle towards Baty's truck. Baty realized the armored vehicle coming close to his truck and yelled. The armored vehicle crashed into the truck's trailer setting off a giant explosion killing Baty.
