The Chronians are the overarching antagonists of the 2007 made-for-TV film Ben 10: Race Against Time. They are a race of humanoid aliens from the planet Chronia who, according to Eon, are slowly facing extinction and seek a new home—Earth.
Biography[]
The Chronians had planned to conquer Earth, and their opportunity came when Eon used the Hands of Armageddon to open a time rift between Earth and Chronia, releasing them. However, their invasion was thwarted when Max Tennyson deactivated the Hands, forcing the Chronians back. Their hopes of taking over Earth would later be trumped completely when Ben Tennyson defeated Eon and destroyed the Hands for good.
Powers and Abilities[]
Chronians possess the ability to manipulate time at a fundamental level—able to accelerate, reverse, or freeze its flow within their surroundings. However, this power comes at a cost; if overused or weakened, it can backfire, accelerating their aging and further weakening them.
Etymology[]
The name "Chronian" comes from the name "Chronos", the name of the Primordial God of time from Greek and Roman mythologies.
