| “ | With men I know what to expect. An initial spurt of bravura teamed in the end with cowardice. Even the best of men are driven by--at most--two or three desires. Easily manipulated. Like putty, but with too much hair. But women... women are as baffling and as dangerous to each other as we are to man. You can make no predictions on what we will do next, who we might crush... Who we might love. | „ |

Biography[]
Modern Age[]
Circe originally challenged the Golden Age Wonder Woman, then became a recurring figure in Diana's Rogues Gallery in the early 1980s. Her history was later reinvented after the events of Crisis on Infinite Earths. She often refers to herself as a goddess and indeed has shown herself to be one of DC's most powerful sorceresses, capable of many mystical feats but never seeming to be content with what she has. She seeks to dominate the world and defeat Wonder Woman so that magic can rule supreme. She served as the main villain of almost every Wonder Woman comic alongside Ares. She was the mastermind behind many thing such as Amazons Attack, War of the Gods, and a few other nasty plots. She also had a daughter named Lyta who is the only person in the world she cares for. She also earned a place in the Injustice Gang.
New 52[]
Circe has had a very longstanding rivalry with Wonder Woman's mother, Hippolyta. When Hippolyta was a young queen, she accepted Circe's services of enchanting the Amazon's weapons in exchange for male Amazon heirs to serve as human fodder for Circe's army of animal/human hybrids called Ani-Men. When Hippolyta backed out of her deal, making an alternative agreement with the god Hephaestus instead, Circe was enraged and began plotting her revenge. She took it out on Wonder Woman, lashing out at the Amazon by empowering a young man named David Reid with a hatred of super-heroes. Circe transformed Reid into the powerful super-villain Magog and unleashed him on Superman, while she personally attacked Wonder Woman. Neither succeeded in their attempt to take down the heroes.
DC Rebirth[]
In DC Rebirth, Circe's appearance changed with her hair now red and having pale skin. She initially dressed in a more 'civilian' manner than her usual outfits but after inheriting the powers of Hecate, the Goddess of Magic, in an event she orchestrated known as the "Witching Hour", she began to take on a more supernatural form with literally flaming hair. Shortly afterwards she would found the Injustice League Dark to counteract the Justice League Dark created by her hated rival Wonder Woman. Circe built her League by recruiting Solomon Grundy, the Floronic Man, Klarion the Witch Boy and Papa Midnite.
