Clément Galán is one of the three secondary antagonists (alongside Jade & Matias LaFontaine) of the third season of the Disney Channel Argentine series Violetta.

He is a French exchange student who comes from a wealthy family who wants to attend the Studio. However, his father Nicolás opposes his son's dreams and makes him go to college to study a career he doesn't even like.

He is portrayed by Damien Lauretta.

History

Clément wants to attend Studio On Beat, but his father Nicolás, a wealthy businessman, won't allow it, instead wanting his son to study business administration so that he can follow in his footsteps, having tried to enroll as Clément only to be stopped from doing so by Nicolás. Nevertheless, Clément does attend the Studio behind his father's back by dressing in normal clothes and using the fake identity of Alexandre Benoit, or for short to everyone, Alex, making most of the students assume he comes from a poor background. He meets Violetta, immediately falling in love with her, who helps him out to audition and convincing Antonio to give him a scholarship, much to the jealousy of Leon since he sees them close to each other all day.

In addition, he meets and teams up with Gery López, with whom he shares the same thing in common: both of them are in love with Violetta and Leon. So, they start conspiring together in order to separate them, mostly through manipulations, misunderstandings, deceits or even heated arguments if necessary. However, as time goes by, Clément starts to develop feelings for Gery and realizes there is no way to actually separate Violetta and Leon the more they attempt to do so, but Gery does not reciprocate those feelings and is still determined to find the way to break them up for good.

Gery starts growing suspicious of Clément when he makes a generous donation to the Studio, despite his alleged background, and notices him abruptly walking out of the premises when Nicolás shows up, also having his own suspicions that Clément is attending the school and sending his driver to investigate. Gery eventually finds out that Clément lied about his identity to everyone and uses this information against him to blackmail him into parttaking in another scheme to separate the couple, pretending to be them through different chats, consequently causing tension between Violetta and Leon who start to fight a lot. Furious that Clément has been going to the Studio without his permission, Nicolás now refuses to sell it. Jade LaFontaine, having been recently married to Nicolás, is the one who tipped him off in order to reconcile both of them and get them to talk in a civilized way about what Clément truly wants, not what he is expected to do. Herman and Violetta convince him otherwise, because it is a reminder of how Herman first reacted when Violetta was attending the Studio but soon came to understand. Nicolás agrees to sell the Studio to Herman, only on the condition that his son must not return to the school, but ultimately changes his mind after seeing Clément sing. Clément is initially mad at Jade for giving him away but forgives her when Jade points out she had good intentions and that he shouldn't lie to his father because he still has chances to make things right with him, unlike Jade, yet Clément convinces Jade to reconcile with his father and they do.

Before the trip to Seville, Clément also records a video confessing to Violetta his and Gery's actions to separate but expressing remorse for it and that it was wrong until Gery, still obssessed with having Leon for herself, erases it before Violetta could have a chance to see it but at the last moment and, despite Gery intending again to stop him, Clément face-to-face reveals to Violetta and Leon their plot to keep them apart and apologize to them before they walk away from the scene, leaving Violetta and Leon disappointed that they have been set up. The following morning, Violetta and Leon conversate with Clément and Gery who are truly sorry for their actions, finally understanding how much they love each other, with Gery acknowledging how unfairly she had misjudged Violetta since day one. In response, Violetta and Leon forgive them and become friends. Clément and Gery become a couple as well and join the group in their last performance together onstage, thus ending the love triangles for good.
