I'm a close friend of some of the family around here. I do some independent contracting around the casino, and they set me up with this great room
~ Clanden's summary of his secret role at the casino.

Clanden is a minor antagonist in the 2010 video game Fallout: New Vegas. He is a serial killer who travels around the Nevada desert so he can rape women and tape his atrocities. He also works as a demolition expert shown when Vulpes Inculta hired him to bomb the strip to kill all the citizens in a short space of time so the Omertas could initiate a coup to distract the NCR. He was voiced by Jesse Burch

Biography[]

One day, Clanden was given a request by Vulpes Inculta to make a bomb that is capable of killing a lot of people on the strip in a short amount of time and since the Omertas were working with Caesar's Legion to start a coup over this they gave Clanden a luxury suite and allowed him to create snuff tapes and do whatever he wants with the hookers with no consequences in return for his services. Clanden had trouble coming up with the idea as he couldn't make an explosive bomb that would kill everyone in a short amount of time. If The Courier decides to assist Clanden with his goals then they can give him the idea to use chlorine gas instead as it is easy to obtain and highly toxic so Clanden asks The Courier to obtain some from the Ultra Luxe pools for his plan.

Joana (who is a prostitute at Gomorrah) also asks The Courier if he could search around the casino as she notices some girls have gone missing. The Courier eventually comes to Clanden's room which has blood splatters, knocked over furniture, a dead body in his room that with a medicine skill of 35 or higher The Courier can deduce that the prostitute was killed less then a day ago. And The Courier then searches behind Clanden's dresser and notices a safe. They pick the lock on the safe and find snuff tapes that Clanden has made involving him brutally raping women before violently killing them. The Courier takes the tapes but Clanden catches them inside his room. Clanden demands to have his tapes back so The Courier can either give them back if he leaves Vegas and gives them 200 caps, tell Clanden they will keep to tapes due to them being evidence of a crime, or just keep them and tell Clanden they won't tell anyone about the tapes.

Trivia[]

  • Even if The Courier aids Clanden with his plan, it's never known if The Legion actually bombed the strip or not as it's not possible to view it on screen.
