Clara: You know I was going to marry too, no?
Roberto: Well, Lucía told me something. But it didn't go well in the end.
Clara: No, it didn't go well. 5 years dating the man of your life. But he leaves to make a master's degree in the USA and the jerk doesn't come back.
Roberto: Maybe he failed.
Clara: No, he didn't fail. Me with all the wedding organised, with the invitations sent. It's humiliating, isn't it?
Roberto: These are things that happen.
Clara: But they won't happen again, at least in my family. I don't know if you understand me. You're not thinking of doing a master degree.
Roberto: No no no no, I have it clear. I won't back down.
Clara: Of course not, that's why I'm here, to prevent it.
~ Clara to Roberto, when visiting them in their house.
Dad? Yes, it's me. Yes, I've been with them. Very well, very well. Yes, stay calm, he's already very overwhelmed. You'll see how they won't get married.
~ Clara talking with her father on the phone.

Clara Álvarez Muñoz is a minor villain in the Spanish sitcom Aquí no hay quien viva.

She was portrayed by Silvia Abascal.

Biography[]

Before the events of the series, Clara had had a relationship for five years with her boyfriend, who she was going to marry. The wedding was already organised and the invitations had been sent, but he left to do a master's degree in the USA.

In the episode Érase un anillo (lit. Once Upon a Ring), Clara visits Roberto and Lucía in their house, and advises him to buy Lucía an engagement ring. In a later visit, he shows it to Clara. who tells her her sister prefers less conventional things, and that's why she's with him. Roberto tells Clara the shopkeeper advised her, and Clara plays protective of her sister because he looked at the shopkeeper. Roberto enters the bedroom to speak with Lucía, and Clara swaps the engagement ring with the candle holder they were going to gift the Cuestas. In the Cuestas' house, people open their Secret Santa's gifts, and Paloma opens the box with the engagement ring. Meanwhile, in Roberto's and Lucía's house, he gives her what's supposed to be the engagement ring, only to find the candle holder. Roberto then figures out what happened and goes to the Cuestas' house and Paloma thanks him for the ring. Roberto tries to explain that it was a mistake, but she doesn't want to listen. Later Roberto asks Juan to retrieve the ring for him. Clara accompanies Roberto to try on suits for the wedding. When they return home, she says nothing fits him (most likely an attempt to sabotage the wedding). Later, she tries to make Lucía believe that he made up the excuse of the store giving him the wrong thing in case she didn't like the candle holder. Later, Roberto returns with the ring, and while Lucía insists on that he shouldn't have bothered to spend so much money, Roberto accuses her sister of swapping the gifts. Clara hears everything an leaves, playing sad. Lucía calls Roberto into the bedroom to tell him that her sister is under medical treatment for her maniac-depressive seizures. Roberto apologizes to Clara. At the end, she calls her father, telling him how Roberto is overwhelmed and they won't get married.

In the episode Érase una nochebuena (lit. Once Upon a Christmas Eve), while Lucía and Roberto are having a dinner with their parents, Clara herself and Roberto's grandmother, she contributes to an argument between Roberto's and Lucía's fathers about who is going to pay the wedding's expenses, promting Lucía to say there won't be a wedding.
