Clarence, also known as Man Mountain, is a minor character in the crime drama series Better Call Saul and the sequel film El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie. He is a criminal who is often hired for jobs involving protection and intimidation.
He was portrayed by David Mattey.
History[]
Season 1[]
Man Mountain, along with Mike Ehrmantraut and Sobchak, is hired by Caldera as bodyguards for Daniel Wormald (under the alias "Pryce"). Mike and Sobchak argue about whether the former is suited for the job. Man Mountain remains silent during the altercation, during which Mike disarms Sobchak and knocks him to the floor leaving him gasping for air. Mike takes all of his weapons and offers one to Man Mountain, who flees in fear.
Season 4[]
Man Mountain is later hired alongside Huell Babineaux by Jimmy McGill to intimidate three juvenile delinquents who had mugged Jimmy when he was selling burner phones. After Jimmy lures the thugs into a trap, Huell and Man Mountain ambush and capture them from behind, before taking him to a piñata warehouse. The three are bound, gagged and hung upside down, while Man Mountain and Huell smash piñatas behind them as they come closer to the trio, compelling the teenagers to agree to leave Jimmy alone. Man Mountain and Huell then leave the scene.
Season 5[]
Man Mountain is seen selling churros to criminals from a cart at an event organized by Jimmy to promote his legal services.
El Camino[]
In El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie, Man Mountain's name is revealed to be Clarence and he now works as a bouncer. He drives to Kandy Welding compound in a Hummer with three prostitutes for Neil Kandy. Clarence tells Neil the hourly rate, takes the payment and introduces the women to him and his friends. After the session, the prostitutes wake up Clarence from his sleep and they leave the place via Hummer.
