Claw Noir (Adrien Agreste) is one of the two titular main antagonists (alongside Shadybug) of Miraculous World: Paris - Tales of Shadybug and Claw Noir, which is a special episode of the show Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir.
He is voiced by Bryce Papenbrook, who voiced his heroic counterpart, Argos and the Nightmare Adrien in the same series.
Appearance[]
Unlike Cat Noir, his alternate version has green spiky hair with the back of his head shaved. He also has dark purple cat eyes with black lips. Claw Noir shares cat ears and a black mask with his original version. He wears a black bodysuit with a leather jacket and the ball hanging from his neck is spiky like many other parts of his design. He has a long black belt around his waist.
As Adrien Agreste, he looks similar to the original Adrien: green eyes and blonde hair, although his hair is swept all over to the left with the right part of his head shaved. He also uses black eyeliner and paints his nails black.
Personality[]
After losing his mother Emilie, he was shown to be cold, distant, miserable, and lonely. Claw Noir's relationship with Shadybug was not "partners" as he was up to steal her Miraculous every time he would have an opportunity and he was distant from his father and the rest of the world. Strangely, he was attracted to Re-verse Marinette Dupain-Cheng, despite the two never having met in person, with him often stopping his car in front of her bakery to see her,
While fighting, he was aggressive and with big desire to hurt and destroy as much as he can. He was not scared of getting Cataclysmed and had no hesitation in forcing Cat Noir to touch him and in Marinette's house he was acting lazy and childish. Also he didn't got along with Shadybug, often insulting her and belittling her plans. However, he becomes pleasantly surprised when discovering her identity as Marinette and after seeing her failing to wish to have a better life, he felt sympathy for her and tried to comfort her when she cried in heartbreak.
Biography[]
As shown in the special "Miraculous World Paris - Tales of Shadybug and Claw Noir", Claw Noir is partnered, though not to his liking, with Shadybug, being assigned by The Supreme to find their Gabriel Agreste, known as Betterfly, and recover the Butterfly Miraculous from him as punishment for using his Miraculous for good when The Supreme only wanted to use the Miraculous for evil.
They are trying to breach Betterfly's headquarters just as he Kamikotizes Alya Cesaire into the superhero Ubiquity to provide a portal for Betterfly to cross over from the Re-Verse to the Quantic Universe to seek out the bearers of the Ladybug and Cat Miraculous in the Quantic Universe to ask for their aid. After Betterfly escapes just as they breach his base using Claw Noir's Cataclysm to do so, they take Nino Lahiffe hostage, forcing Ubiquity to reopen the portal for them to pursue Betterfly, ending up in the Quantic Universe's Marinette Dupain-Cheng's bedroom. Upon spotting where she and Betterfly fled, after subduing and tying up the Quantic Alya/Ubiquity to serve as their way home, Claw Noir blows out the wall with Cataclysm before pursuing Betterfly and Marinette to the Eiffel Tower. Upon arriving, they begin damaging the structure, before Claw Noir calls out Betterfly, threatening to destroy the whole Quantic Earth with Cataclysm if he doesn't surrender. When he reveals himself and pleads for them to spare the Quantic Universe, trying to point out how the Re-Verse Earth can be like it if they help him, Shadybug and Claw Noir ignore him and attack.
Just as they have him pinned down and prepare to finish him off, they are interrupted by the Quantic Universe's Ladybug, ordering them to let Betterfly go. Soon joined by the Quantic Universe's Cat Noir, they fight their Re-Verse counterparts, until Claw Noir, showing no fear for his own well-being, madly forces Cat Noir to hit him with Cataclysm, leaving a large crack and scar on his uniform. Betterfly soon Kamikotizes Cat Noir into Celesticat to carry him and Ladybug to safety and away from Claw Noir and Shadybug.
Despite losing them, they decide to return to Marinette's room to investigate it. Claw Noir lazes around while Shadybug reads Marinette's diary and makes a shocking discovery: The Absolute Miraculous Power, granted to whoever combines Tikki and Plagg into Gimmi, the Kwami of Reality. Subduing Claw Noir with a pair of Lucky Charm handcuffs, Shadybug disarms him of his Cat Miraculous, reverting him back into the Re-Verse's Adrien Agreste, much to her shock. She then reverts back into the Re-Verse Marinette, who Re-Verse Adrien recognizes from seeing her through her family's bakery's window whenever he went past in his limo. Following the instructions from Marinette's diary, Re-Verse Marinette turns the Re-Verse Tikki and Plagg into their true forms, but when she tries to summon Gimmi, the seal placed on Tikki and Plagg kicks in, and The Supreme booms from back in their universe that only he defines reality and reality is The Supreme. The recoil sends Re-Verse Marinette back into Marinette's mirror, breaking it, and when the Quantic Sabine asks if she's alright, thinking it's the Quantic Marinette she's talking to, it takes a look of sadness from Re-Verse Adrien to get Re-Verse Marinette to sound like her Quantic counterpart to reassure Sabine she's fine. Once Sabine retires to bed, Re-Verse Marinette turns back into Shadybug, returns the Cat Miraculous to Re-Verse Adrien, who turns into Claw Noir again, and as they contemplate how The Superme lied to them, and now they are slowly killing themselves using their Miraculous' special ability constantly without the limiter or turning back to take some time to recuperate, as they wonder what to do now since they can't summon Gimmi, they are soon confronted by Monarch, the Quantic Universe counterpart to Betterfly, who offers to help them in return for them helping him capture the Quantic Universe's Ladybug and Cat Miraculous, so they can summon Gimmi with them and still make their wish(es).
Returning to the Eiffel Tower, Monarch uses the Fox Miraculous and its Mirage ability to send illusions of giant versions of Claw Noir and Shadybug to call out Ladybug and Cat Noir. It is not long before they show up to fight their Re-Verse counterparts. Claw Noir faces off with Cat Noir, and during their fight, when Claw Noir reveals their intentions, Cat Noir warns him of the penalty for summoning Gimmi. However, Claw Noir then reveals that he is still suffering from the grief of losing his mother, Emilie, and the wish would allow him to bring her back. Hearing that, Cat Noir, even after being reverted back into Adrien, reveals that Claw Noir isn't that different from himself since he also lost his Emilie. However, he explains to Claw Noir that, while everyday he misses her deeply, bringing her back was too high a price to pay, and has made peace with it. His words begin to break through Claw Noir's grief, along with The Supreme's influence on him with being so vicious, vindictive, mean, and ill-tempered. Adrien even suggests that, to help cope with his grief, Claw Noir should try to befriend the Re-Verse versions of Adrien's classmates, like the Re-Verse Nino, even suggesting a movie that the Quantic Nino likes.
Around this time, Shadybug, convinced by Marinette to reform as well, uses her Miraculous Ladybug to fix all the damage to the Quantic Paris caused by their fighting, which also heals Claw Noir as well. Returning the Quantic Cat Miraculous to Adrien, together, Cat Noir and Claw Noir regroup with the reformed Shadybug, Ladybug, Betterfly, and Quantic Alya, where upon seeing Shadybug's new costume, Claw Noir decides to create a new outfit for himself, renaming himself Paw Noir, while Shadybug renames herself Ladybug like her Quantic counterpart.
After the Quantic Ladybug prevents Monarch from trying to steal the Ladybug and Cat Miraculous from several alternate universes by syncing with her counterparts in those universes thanks to Betterfly Kamikotizing her into Ladybiquity, Betterfly prepares to return home with Paw Noir and Ladybug to prepare for war against The Supreme, but shares Ladybug and Cat Noir's trademark victory fist bump with them alongside Paw Noir and his Ladybug before Kamikotizing Alya into Ubiquity to provide the way home, and Betterfly, Paw Noir, and their Ladybug return home, leaving the Quantic Ladybug, Cat Noir, and Alya with their hope of defeating Monarch renewed, while Betterfly, Paw Noir, and the Re-Verse Ladybug carry the hope of freeing their universe from The Supreme's control with them as they return to take the fight to him.
