Clay is a minor antagonist in the 2006 film The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, the third installment of the Fast & Furious franchise. He is a high-school student quarterback and the rival of protagonist Sean Boswell.
He was portrayed by former actor Zachery Ty Bryan, who also played Eric Marsh in Smallville.
Biography[]
Clay was interfering with Sean for talking to his girlfriend after she compliments him on his car. As Sean was about to leave, Clay threw a baseball at Sean's Monte Carlo and he stopped the car to confront Clay. His girlfriend suggested the two should have a race and the winner gets to go out with her.
Clay and Sean began racing in a neighborhood under construction. Clay and his girlfriend crashed into a piece of concrete tubing, while Sean plowed through a house and ended up flipping his car. Later Sean, Clay and his girlfriend were at the police station seen with bruises and injuries.
While the police captain talked to Sean, he explained that "Barbie and Ken" were going to walk out of here without a slap on the wrist because their parents were too hooked up.
Clay was last seen walking out of the police station with his girlfriend and both of their parents. It is unknown what happened to them afterwards; Clay would have lost interest with Sean and would have reconciled with his girlfriend. He had also gotten away with his actions, with Sean having to pay the price by having to live with his father in Japan or risk imprisonment.
Trivia[]
- Despite appearing for a short time on the screen, Clay could be considered the main antagonist (though he was later replaced by DK Takashi), because his jealousy for Cindy caused Sean's move to Japan. Even so, however, Sean never moved back to America afterwards and Clay was never seen again for the rest of the movie.
