Clea, also known as the Mistress by her creations, is a major antagonist in the 2025 French RPG, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. She is a painted replica of Clea Dessendre, created by the Paintress, who was then repainted over by her original self.
She was then converted into being the creator of the Nevrons, as her original self was occupied with the war against the Writers. As a result, she plays an unwilling major role alongside the Curator in trying to defeat the Paintress and remove her from the Canvas.
She is voiced by Amandine Barbier in French and Devora Wilde in English.
Personality[]
While it is unknown what her true self was like prior, it is believed that Clea was similar to her real life counterpart, based on the fact that she was created from her mother's memories. However, by the time Expedition 33 encounters her, she has been repainted by her original self, having been turned into a mute pawn whose only purpose is to create the Nevrons to prevent the flow of Chroma.
When she is defeated, she regains a small part of his true self in which she fondly looks at her brother, Verso, and tries to reach out for him, before proceeding to end her own life.
