He was a mercenary that got possessed by Ik Nobe Llok to lead Project Butterfly, recluting the 11th Street Kids, until he got permanently killed by Eek Stack Ik Ik.
Murn comed from Nyasir, and from a very young age he trained to become a mercenary by learning assasination tactics. As a mercenary, Murn committed many terrible acts, becoming known for his reputation of atrocities among A.R.G.U.S.. At some point Murn joined Caspar Locke to carry out a massacre in the jungles of Nyasir, killing many people. Because of his skills, Murn was enlisted by Amanda Waller as an infiltrator in some missions.
At some point, Murn got killed and possessed by the butterfly Ik Nobe Llok, who needed a host and was looking for a bad person so their loss would be minor. Ik Nobe Llok soon regretted the decision however, feeling guilty over killing Murn and possessing his corpse, thus robbing him of his chance of atoning for his past actions. Eventually, Ik Nobe Llok was shot by Eek Stack Ik Ik, who was possessing Sophie Song's body, killing Murn's body permanently.

Orginally, James Gunn wrote Clemson Murn/Ik Nobe Llok character specifically for Lance Reddick in mind.
According to James Gunn, the Earth-X counterpart of Murn is the total opposite of Earth-1's Murn, being a hero and a member of the Sons of Liberty.
