Cliff is a minor antagonist in Dying Light 2. He appears in the side mission Missing Persons where his brother, Damien, asks Aiden Caldwell for help in finding him who he thinks is being held captive.
Personality[]
Cliff is shown to be a manipulative sadist as he displays no regret over using Damien as his puppet to bring in more victims for Waltz to use. When Damien shows shock over this, he tells him to stop being baby about it displaying his general lack of care towards his own brother.
Appearance[]
Cliff is identical to Damien outside of his facial hair and hairstyle. He is seen wearing a hooded jacket similar to most bandits in the game with visible tattoos all over his body.
Biography[]
Aiden is approached by a man named Damien who asks him if he wants to handle a certain job for his associates. While he is initially reluctant to take the job, Aiden eventually relents and decides to take it. When arriving to the building, he finds the boss who is aware that he is new around this area. The interrogator immediately assaults Aiden with the intent of bringing him to his boss who he says is dying to meet him. A fight quickly breaks out with Aiden killing all of them. Damien is eventually confronted by Aiden over this who is angered by his deception. Damien begs him to let him live and explains why he did this, saying that it was all to protect his brother who he believes is being held hostage by the group. Depending on the decision made, Aiden can either fight him and kill him or agree to finding his brother.
When heading to Cliff's location, he finds out that Cliff is completely fine, with corpses surrounding him that have been hung or beaten to death, and is actually working with the group to bring in pilgrims and children to either be killed or experimented on by Waltz. Aiden calls Damien to tell him what he just discovered of which Cliff responds to by thanking him for sending in Aiden who Waltz has been dying to see. Cliff then mocks his brother for crying over the revelation, telling his men to capture him. Angered by what he just discovered, Aiden hunts down Cliff who fights back ending with Aiden killing him.
Aiden makes it back to the bazaar settlement to find Damien who locked himself to the top of the settlement out of guilt for his participation in Cliff's operations, Depending on the option chosen it can either lead to Damien calming down and trying to make up for his crimes or him jumping off the building out of suicidal despair, ending the mission.
